## In customers' own words
_Verbatim quotes from this trader's public reviews, each attributed to its source:_
> "Club maintain our garden in Beaulieu and have done some fencing and landscaping. We are delighted with the service; Chris and the team are a pleasure to have around. Thoroughly recommended. Simon and Fran"

> "Chris renovated a very neglected part of my garden, building raised beds for vegetables, leveling surrounding area and laying down gravel. It was an intensive and difficult area, full of roots, ivy, nettles and buried bags of cement , not to mention decades of 'rubbish'. He was a pleasure to have in the garden, always kept me up to speed on progress and what would be done when and completed work on time."

> "Chris was very quick to fit me in his busy schedule for the following day to trim my hedge. It took longer than he thought to complete but what a brilliant job he has done. I think it is the best trimmed hedge I have had. He picked up all the bits to take away (waste certificate trader) not just used a blower to sweep under the hedge like previous people I have had. I would highly recommend Chris and I would call him again."

## Before you hire a gardener
_What to check when choosing this kind of trade (general guidance, not a claim about this business):_
- Get an itemised quote that separates plants and materials, any machinery or skip hire, and labour. A vague 'garden makeover' lump sum hides where the money goes and makes extra charges easy to add later.
- Be wary of paying a large sum up front 'for materials'. Agree staged payments against work you can see completed, especially for hard landscaping like patios, decking, paving or driveways.
- Tree work and anything near a boundary can be regulated. Protected trees and conservation areas often need permission, and removing a protected tree can be an offence. Confirm what is allowed, and that they carry public-liability insurance, before work starts.
- Ask to see a portfolio of completed work like yours, plus recent references you can contact.
- Check the credentials and registrations that matter for this work, and that they are current.
