- Look for a surveyor or contractor accredited by the Property Care Association (PCA), the recognised UK body for damp and timber, and prefer an independent surveyor holding CSRT (now CSTDB) or CSSW for the diagnosis itself.
- Ask to see a portfolio of completed work like yours, plus recent references you can contact.
