## In customers' own words
_Verbatim quotes from this trader's public reviews, each attributed to its source:_
> "I have a domestic property which sprung a leak in its mains supply pipe. A plumber inspecting the problem recommended Hamblins. I phoned them and they came out a few hours later to do a survey. It then took two visits by Hamblins to find and fix the leak - replacing the 60 year old steel pipe with an mdpe pipe. I cannot in any way fault the way they carried out the work. They arrived promptly, worked with minimum disturbance, kept me fully informed of where they were with the job and discussed the options for repair clearly. I would strongly recommend their services."

> "Very happy with the works carried out. Reasonable quotation with clear instructions of their terms and managed to carry out the works when they had a cancellation which was a bonus. The guys who turned up were polite and friendly. They located quickly the area of the leak under the driveway using special equipment and then cracked on with digging and repairing without any fuss. Left everything tidy. Invoice received with no surprises and as per the quotation.Great service!"

## Before you hire a plumber
_What to check when choosing this kind of trade — general guidance, not a claim about this business:_
- Agree the call-out fee, the hourly or fixed rate, and whether parts are charged on top — in writing — before an emergency plumber starts. Out-of-hours overcharging and 'while I'm here' add-ons are common complaints.
- Be wary of a plumber who, on a first visit, says your whole system or boiler must be replaced — get a second opinion and an itemised quote (parts and labour separately) before agreeing to major work.
- Gas and boiler work is a separate, regulated trade — not general plumbing. Make sure anyone working on a gas appliance is specifically registered to do gas work, and ask to see that registration before they start.
- Look for consistent reviews across several named sources, not one polished profile.
- Check any verified credentials, and that the business details independently check out.
