## In customers' own words
_Verbatim quotes from this trader's public reviews, each attributed to its source:_
> "Harrison was brilliant, job was done very well and on time couldn’t ask for anyone better"

> "I had a leak inside my electric boiler and was struggling to find someone who could repair it. I called several companies, but they all said they didn't work on electric boilers. He came to my house and was very professional and provided excellent customer service. He explained the problem to me in a way that I could understand and gave me a solution for the repair. He also swiftly did the work at a reasonable price. He was able to fix my boiler quickly and efficiently, and I'm confident that they'll be able to help me if I ever have any other problems with my heating system."

> "Contacted Harrison via Checkatrade and received a response within 30 mins. Harrison completed a site visit the day before to ensure everything was as expected and fitted our new boiler within of being contacted. Pacey who I believe is an apprentice attended with Harrison and was allowed to complete tasks to aid his qualification (did melt a little of the boiler casing when fitting the new copper pipes but no big deal). Overall very good."

## Before you hire a plumber
_What to check when choosing this kind of trade (general guidance, not a claim about this business):_
- Agree the call-out fee, the hourly or fixed rate, and whether parts are charged on top, in writing, before an emergency plumber starts. Out-of-hours overcharging and 'while I'm here' add-ons are common complaints.
- Be wary of a plumber who, on a first visit, says your whole system or boiler must be replaced. Get a second opinion and an itemised quote (parts and labour separately) before agreeing to major work.
- Gas and boiler work is a separate, regulated trade, not general plumbing. Make sure anyone working on a gas appliance is specifically registered to do gas work, and ask to see that registration before they start.
- For the water-regulations side of plumbing, a WaterSafe-approved plumber is vetted, qualified to the water regulations and insured. You can check yours or find one free at watersafe.org.uk.
- Look for consistent reviews across several named sources, not one polished profile.
