## In customers' own words
_Verbatim quotes from this trader's public reviews, each attributed to its source:_
> "From the off, Mark was very prompt with the quote and once it has been accepted he booked me as soon as he had availability. Once the work began, he was punctual, tidy and professional throughout. He completed the job in good time with no issues and left the house absolutely spotless. I would highly recommend Homestar Plumbing and Heating to anyone."

> "Mark is really great - very friendly but still professional, had him over a couple of times for boiler service and a couple of leaky pipes. Not only is the work to a high standard but Mark also took the time to explain how things work in the system, so now I have better understanding and perform simple adjustments to the system without the need of a engineer. Mark also quoted on a few addition problems - not only a cost but an explanation of why the problem is occurring and what he would need to do to fix it."

> "Mark and Ian were excellent. The job was to remove the old Baxi back boiler from my fireplace, hot water tank from my airing cupboard and both water tanks from mt loft, then replace with a new Baxi Combi boiler. Not to take up any room in the house they rerouted the gas and mains water, then placed the boiler in my loft. I now have a new central heating system operated by Hive remote and hot and cold water on mains pressure. Superb work and courteous manner, I would recommend Mark to anyone without hesitation."

## Before you hire a plumber
_What to check when choosing this kind of trade — general guidance, not a claim about this business:_
- Agree the call-out fee, the hourly or fixed rate, and whether parts are charged on top — in writing — before an emergency plumber starts. Out-of-hours overcharging and 'while I'm here' add-ons are common complaints.
- Be wary of a plumber who, on a first visit, says your whole system or boiler must be replaced — get a second opinion and an itemised quote (parts and labour separately) before agreeing to major work.
- Gas and boiler work is a separate, regulated trade — not general plumbing. Make sure anyone working on a gas appliance is specifically registered to do gas work, and ask to see that registration before they start.
- For the water-regulations side of plumbing, a WaterSafe-approved plumber is vetted, qualified to the water regulations and insured — you can check yours or find one free at watersafe.org.uk.
- Look for consistent reviews across several named sources, not one polished profile.
