## In customers' own words
_Verbatim quotes from this trader's public reviews, each attributed to its source:_
> "Easy to communicate quick turn around from quote to completion, tidy job done, best price as agreed on quote."
> Source: Anonymous (5.0, via Checkatrade)

> "I phoned 3 different tree cutters for a quote who all came to look at the job. We went with Dai at Special Branch because he could slot us in his diary (others were talking about 4-6 weeks ahead), he was local and he just seemed very genuine. You couldn't see the end of the garden because of all the trees but these guys did an absolutely brilliant job of cutting down and clearing the area and I would highly recommend. He did a wonderful job and my mum was very pleased. If she's happy, then I know these guys did great work!"

> "Happy with the work done and the advice given. Both men worked well together. Checked my wished and continued through the rain."

## Before you hire a tree surgeon / arborist
_What to check when choosing this kind of trade (general guidance, not a claim about this business):_
- Public-liability cover for tree work is commonly £2–5m. Anything much lower is worth questioning on a big job.
- Check they carry public-liability insurance and ask to SEE the certificate. Tree work is high-risk and damage to your property, a neighbour's, or a person is expensive to put right.
- Before any felling or heavy pruning, check whether the tree is protected (a preservation order, a conservation area, or active bird nesting), because YOU, the homeowner, can be fined for unauthorised work, not just the contractor.
- Get the scope in writing (which trees, how much to take off, and who removes the waste and grinds the stump), and never pay in full before the work is finished.
- Prefer a tree surgeon approved by the Arboricultural Association, and check with your local council's tree officer before working on any protected tree or one in a conservation area.
