## In customers' own words
_Verbatim quotes from this trader's public reviews, each attributed to its source:_
> "I found this company by asking on a local page Tom came out to quote and gave me a price. The gates arrived in the time frame he had advised. We arranged a day for installation. On the day Tom contacted me to say they had to do less work than expected so there would be a reduction on the price! A few weeks later the gate needed a bit of adjustment (lumpy driveway). Tom came out and did this and another little job he noticed needing doing. No charge to me."

> "This is the second job that Tom has done for us, on both occasions he has done a great job, he is punctual, polite, and tidy. I would definitely recommend him."

> "Was recommended TP landscapes from a local Facebook page. Pop them a message on WhatsApp the same evening and within a few minutes we had started a conversation about the required work. A quote was supplied and I gauges that against 2 more quote. TP were the cheapest and still had great reviews. The work has been completed to an extremely high standard and dealing with Tom has been a pleasure. Arrived when he said he would, did what he said he would do. Easy to deal with and workmanship is spot on. I would have no issue recommending TP landscapes to anybody and have his number saved for future"

## Before you hire a landscaper
_What to check when choosing this kind of trade (general guidance, not a claim about this business):_
- Get an itemised quote that separates plants and materials, any machinery or skip hire, and labour. A vague 'garden makeover' lump sum hides where the money goes and makes extra charges easy to add later.
- Be wary of paying a large sum up front 'for materials'. Agree staged payments against work you can see completed, especially for hard landscaping like patios, decking, paving or driveways.
- Tree work and anything near a boundary can be regulated. Protected trees and conservation areas often need permission, and removing a protected tree can be an offence. Confirm what is allowed, and that they carry public-liability insurance, before work starts.
- Ask to see a portfolio of completed work like yours, plus recent references you can contact.
- Check the credentials and registrations that matter for this work, and that they are current.
