Avant-Garde Roofing Solutions Limited

The company replaced our old tar and felt flat roof with a fibreglass membrane roof. We had come across them at the Grand Design Exhibition in London last year. The advice given beforehand was excellent and knowledgeable, the work was done on time, the crew was very courteous and efficient.

I asked Clint to come and quote for replacing the flat roof on our garage and lobby, this was actually to repair the job done by RN Home Improvements Ltd the year before, and they had done such a bad job that they made a roof that didn't leak, leak, and I mean pour in to the point I had to put a Tarpaulin over it to try and stop the water coming in through lights and having to have buckets to catch the rain. Clint and his team did a really brilliant job, even made a 'Warm Roof' over the lobby, which the others hadn't bothered to do. The finish and workmanship is superb, even to the point of repairing and replacing the abomination that the others had created, including removing the old tools and rubbish that RN had 'hidden' under the tiled roof. I would definitely recommend them, especially as the price they quoted was the same as RN, but a thousand times better, no leaks, looks great, and couldn't be bettered. Thanks Clint!

Thought I had a problem with the roof that was fitted by Clint a few months ago, turns out that it wasn't. Paul came out on his day off to repair a leak that had nothing to do with any work they had done, and he repaired it, even though it wasn't his responsibility, now that's what I call professionalism, and brilliant customer service. Excellent service. These guys are incredibly skilled and very professional. Paul responded to our request quite quickly and provided a quote soon after. The team showed up on time and were incredibly efficient. They stripped out and replaced a poorly laid GRP fibre-glass flatroof (laid 2 years ago by an incompetent builder). Paul (avant-garde) arrived on time to review the flat dormer roof over 3 first floor bedrooms, an area of 50 square meters. The roof had been replaced by East Midlands Roofing Solutions now operating as THE EMR GROUP LTD in July 2021. The replaced roof had problems from the day it was completed - guttering was ineffective with water running down the walls and in November leaks began to appear - due to cracks and pin holes in many areas of the roof. Paul (avant-garde) recommended the incorrectly fitted fiberglass roof and OSB boarding be replaced. Clint and his team arrived on time to begin the roof replacement. All work was carried out to a very high standard and I now have a super looking fiberglass flat roof. I have every confidence my new roof will look good and be water tight for many years to come. Highly delighted with the result.

Clint and Paul are professional & reliable. They and their team are hard working. Paul did a thorough survey of the roof and provided a detailed quotation detailing the works and referencing the correct building regulations. Each day Clint and his colleague arrived promptly and got stuck into what was a fiddly job to re-roof a flat roof and create a water proof passage through a parapet to two hoppers. The persistent leak has been fixed and the ceiling is as dry as a bone (after several long periods of heavy rain). Thank you Avant Guard.

In June 2022, Paul, Clint and team replaced a flat felt ‘cold’ roof with a ‘warm’ fibreglass one on my front dormer, as well as installing extra insulation in the cheeks of the dormer and replacing the cladding for the cheeks. I was also due to have new windows above the dormer, and there was some discussion as to how things should proceed in order that the flashings for the roof would be installed properly. Unfortunately, there was a mix-up in communication with the windows installer, which made the job much more difficult for Avant Garde. After a few months, there were a couple of leaks; one because of the flashings, and one unrelated from the pitched part of the roof. Avant Garde fixed these, and 20 months on, there’s been no further leaks ensuing from the flat roof work. They were very busy, so it sometimes took a while for them to get back to me. Avant Garde were very helpful, and the whole team were friendly and efficient.
