Review coverage and highlights
I am truly shocked to see Braiden Construction still trading. They undertook an expensive extension project at our property in 2021/22, for which we paid in excess of £150k. They neglected to put in much of the damp-proofing specified by our architect, and what damp-proofing they did provide was incorrectly applied and installed. Following a catastrophic ingress of water in November 2022, which ruined much of the kitchen, Grant refused to communicate with us about the issue and terminated an arbitration process with the FMB claiming bankruptcy. We were left with a £30k bill to put it right.
This company did half the job, took some of the payment and then left the job unfinished claiming it was not enough work for them. I currently have a hole in my outside wall that they didn't replace the brickwork from. And now they will not reply. Would avoid. Have had to now pay someone to do all the internal repointing again as their work was not good enough.
SHOCKING! Have a leaking chimney in a new flat I've yet to move into and was advised I needed to install cowls. Grant quoted for this job, saying it required scaffolding and allowing for checks to the roof area, plus another job. Cowls were installed and Grant told me "roof/leadwork/gutters/support trays/acroypol all in good condition" and I needed to pay before he did the next job, so I did. The next time it rained, chimney still leaking, which I told him. He tried to say it was a leaking pipe and charged me for scaffolding he didn't use, became unresponsive and left my door keys on handle.
