Counter Interiors is a family-run kitchen and bedroom specialist based in York, established in 2013 by Luke Counter after twenty years in the industry. What started as a one-man operation has grown into Yorkshire's largest independent kitchen showroom - 3,200 square feet of premium displays - with Luke's partner Becky now running operations alongside him. Luke's background sets us apart. He spent years as a kitchen fitter before opening the showroom, which means every design we create is built on hands-on experience of what actually works once you're living with it. We care about how your kitchen looks, but we're equally focused on whether you'll curse the drawer placement six months in. We're deliberately selective about who we work with - manufacturers and clients both. Rather than overwhelming you with endless options, we partner with just two kitchen manufacturers (including Häcker), two appliance brands, and two worktop suppliers. This isn't about limiting choice - it's about knowing every single product inside out. When there's a technical question or a problem to solve, we have the answers because we've done the training, fitted the units, and seen how things perform over time. Our premium partnerships include NEFF MasterPartner status, Siemens 5 Star IQ Design Studio, and we're the regional supplier for Sub-Zero & Wolf in Yorkshire. We're also Masterclass Kitchens Platinum Partners and hold Cosentino Elite Premium Studio status. These aren't just badges - they mean access to exceptional products and the technical support to use them properly. The process is straightforward. You'll meet with Luke or our designer Claire for an honest conversation about how you actually use your space - not what looks good in a magazine. We create a full 3D design with photorealistic renders so you can see exactly what you're getting. Two design appointments, then we ask for a £1,000 contribution to proceed (deducted from your final price if you go ahead). After that, we manage everything - electricians, plumbers, plastering, installation - with a detailed timeline so you know what's happening when. Most of our kitchens sit between £25,000 and £50,000 fitted, though we regularly work on projects up to £100,000+.
