Intex Building and Maintenance

This is the third time Intex have undertaken building work for me and each time I have been very pleased with the quality of their work. Duane and his colleagues are a friendly and professional bunch. They arrive when they say they're going to arrive and they work very hard once they're here. They are very tidy and any mess created is cleared away before they leave. The quality of their materials is high and so is their workmanship.

From the start did a great job, brought new ideas on how to do things better. Very good quality result. Always good communication. This was essentially a house renovation so no small job.

We are very happy with the final result of our extension. Would have liked a little more communication, as when the build was going to start. We had to chase the builder for a definite date. Over all through, two fabulous, workmen, who have done a tremendous job. Happy for people to come and see!

Intex building and maintenance did an excellent job for us building a new bedroom. Duane Grundy and his team were clean, efficient and well organised. Duane is a good communicator and he and his team were pleasant to have around. The job was finished on time and on budget. The building solutions and method were good and the work to a high standard. "I contacted Duane Grundy because I wanted a consultation on a property I was considering buying. He accompanied me on a second viewing of the property. I knew that it needed a great deal of work but I wasn't sure of the extent and wanted a builder's view on the extent of work and possible costs. I was very impressed with Duane's professionalism, from my first contact with him. He responded to my request for a consultation, turned up early for the viewing so that we could speak before. He was able to tell me a lot about the property, by looking at the photos from the online listing. I found him to be extremely knowledgeable, with excellent powers of observation. He highlighted several potentially serious problems with the property and the implications and gave a clear and honest idea of the work that would be needed. He communicated with clarity and honesty. This has inspired my confidence in his ability and I will certainly use Duane for my future building needs. In my view the service he provided on this consultation was excellent.

We found Duane through Trusted Traders and asked him to visit a house we were buying to review the surveys with us. Duane visited at least three times; he refused payment, only asking that he be given the opportunity to tender for the work. We were so impressed by him that we didn't look for anyone else. We used the architect that Duane recommended and were pleased at how they worked together to ensure that we got the space we needed to the standard we wanted. Duane started on the build at the beginning of October. It was a full renovation with rewiring, re plumbing, walls removed to create a bigger kitchen, a dormer extension to accommodate bathrooms upstairs, and new skirting/architrave and doors. Duane, Dave and Tyler were the main team but with great relevant professionals brought in as required. The garage was converted into a light and airy workshop. He also undertook hard landscaping, laying paths around the house and a patio; resolving issues with levels by creating lovely retaining walls and steps. Since finishing Duane has been quick to rectify any snagging issues (as expected). As usual in a job of this size the plans changed, and grew, as we went along. Duane was a patient sounding board and always had sensible suggestions of his own to contribute. The team were considerate and professional but with a great sense of humour. I would not hesitate to recommend Duane to others and will definitely be calling on him should we need any work undertaking in the future.

Duane stood out from my first meeting with him. He rang to say he was running late and asked if it was still ok to come and quote. It was hard to pin him down to a starting date but worth the wait. When Duane started he put down lots of dustsheets and the team respected my house and didn't leave unnecessary mess behind them. His work was excellent. My extension is lovely. I felt confident to leave him and the team onsite to carry out the work in my absence. The neighbours commented that were quiet workers Duane completed the work quickly and to high standard. He took on some extras for me so the garden was left as he found it. Like many other people having work done at this time, we suffered from Aedis Building Inspection firm going under - this put a spanner in the works and delayed the project being signed off. No fault of Duane but it did prove to be a struggle to get this sorted. Duane stuck to his quote and the tradesmen he used were all good. I was advised of the costs of tradesmen and the charges were totally transparent. I would be very happy to use Duane and his team again.

Our new kitchen is nearing completion and throughout the current job the extremely high standard of workmanship, which is assured when using Intex Building and Maintenance Services, has been maintained. Duane and his team are highly professional with attention to detail and always explain what will be happening e.g. time scale, arrival times and next stage of project. This has been much more than simply replacing kitchen units - fully insulated walls and a complete floor replacement again fully insulated, with re-plastering and rewiring a virtual rebuilding of the area. This has addressed the many concerns we had had and it was by being able to discuss things beforehand with Duane we have fully benefited from his skill and advice. We are so pleased to have been able to see the progress made as work has continued and what has been achieved in a relatively short time. The breadth of expertise for our home maintenance and improvements has covered several jobs. Initially we had a ventilation system fitted to address our concerns about condensation. Exterior work has involved 1. Replacing a retaining wall and footpath. 2. Removal of an old porch with a new window being fitted. 3. Extensive work on brickwork from repointing to completely replacing weathered sections resulting in a highly professional finish. 4. Relocation of exterior door with an extension prior to current work. We thoroughly recommend Intex and have more improvements planned! Our sincere thanks to all.
