Annual Service of Gas Boiler & Issue of Landlord?s Gas Safety Certificate. I have know Rupert for more than 5 years now & he has serviced the boiler in my rental accommodation every year since 2013. I have recommended him to several other people for whom he has. Done work.

Rupert Halford replaced my old boiler with a new combo-boiler, removed my old hot tank (no longer needed), and also removed an ageing electric shower unit, replacing it with a mains unit instead. Despite issues with piping having been buried within walls, hidden behind cupboard units etc, he did a good clean job, with the minimum of mess. His pricing for the work was very reasonable, though this may in part be because I was going to do the "making-good" myself, rather than employ him to redecorate.

We have a new boiler installed together some rewiring of the control system. Given that this was an underfloor heating system, Rupert managed to sort it out very well. The boiler was a Worcester Bosch type and was fitting in under two days. Well done!

Rupert replaced two shower cartridges to our showerlux installations. The job was quite difficult because one of the old cartridges had rusted screws and seemed impossible to remove. Rupert had all the tools necessary to drill the heads off and unscrew with just the minimum of available grip. I think he went the extra mile with his skill and I believe saved us a considerable amount of money from not having to remove the whole shower works.

Rupert had an uncanny ability to visualise my heating system over the phone, and was able to attend within 48 hours during the national cold snap. He is an engineer as well as a plumber, so has a wide range of skills for diagnosing and fixing heating problems.

I had a new boiler fitted, replacing a very old back boiler. This required the pipe work all moving from one side of the house to the other. Mr Halford explained the pros and cons of different types of boiler much more clearly than anyone had done previously; he then installed the new boiler, moving the pipe work, with no fuss and no damage to my varnished floorboards. He found routes for the pipes which avoided having all the floors up, and those carpets and boards that he did have up have been relaid perfectly. Work was undertaken very promptly when my old boiler stopped functioning completely, was completed in the time planned and was a good price.

I called Oxbridge Plumbing to help sort out a water main extension and a new waste trap so I could have separate washing machine and tumble dryers. They were very helpful in setting up the initial appointment by phone and arranging a convenient time to attend. He turned up promptly at the agreed time. After an initial inspection of the works he left to get the required parts. Once back at the house he worked quickly and competently to address the changes I requested. Once finished he cleared away the mess/waste from the works. The trader also seemed knowledgeable about several other issues that had been on my 'To Do' list which was a great help. I have a number of other small jobs around the house and I'll be using Oxbridge Plumbing again.

Our new system requirements were quickly appreciated. Emails and telephone calls were acknowledged promptly. After a visit several recommendations were suggested, fully explained and discussed and this resulted in a timely quote with options. Work started within 10 days and consisted of a new boiler, unvented cylinder, sludge filter and rerouting of pipes. Old pipework, pumps, wiring and headertanks were all disconnected and mostly recovered. The Nest Control and Heat Link connected seamlessly. Two large holes in the exterior wall from the old balanced flues were bricked up. The job was tidily and neatly finished and went to time. The only remaining problem is the large space now in the boiler cupboard and its interior decoration. However, we are warmer and spending a lot less money on gas. The system is a quieter, more stable and mixer taps better.
