Review coverage and highlights
I booked a survey to a clear specification. This was confirmed, as were all elements of the requested survey. On the day of the survey I was told part of the survey was out of scope. Having waited 2 weeks for the appointment. I raised the issue with Peter Cox and was told the person who made the booking made a mistake and the only remedy on offer was a refund. A total disgrace I would avoid this business.
I used surveying firm Peter Cox to check on a source of damp in an apartment that we let out in East London. In particular, to see if the source was up to me to get fixed, or up to the Council, who own the block. The surveyor who came was spectacularly unimpressive in dealing with the damp problem. They won't even give an opinion as to whether the damp could be caused by the downpipe. If you mention a possible issue with a Council pipe, they back away so fast you're blinded by the dust they raise.... I imagine their view was that, given the job was small, their enthusiasm for providing any kind of professional service was rock bottom. Avoid these people.
