About Shu Architects

Claire and Geoff worked together for several years before forming Shu Architects in 2019. We have an interest in low energy design and the re-use of existing buildings. Claire is a qualified RIBA Conservation Architect and Geoff is also a Certified Passivhaus Designer. Shu Architects specialises in working on interesting and challenging sites. We recognise the importance of added value and focus on deliverable design. We work as a team and collaborate together on all our projects. Everyone in the practice works on projects from inception to completion and this is really important for us. We don’t think design at the feasibility or planning stage is a stand-alone process and the requirements for Planning and Building Regulations are very different. So when we do our initial sketches and designs we do it in the knowledge that we know how it can be delivered on site. We work with you to challenge the brief and find the best solution for you. We have considerable experience in the re-use and refurbishment of buildings but we also promote well considered, low-energy new-build.
