Fit staircase, divide loft room, hang fire doors Constructed a kit staircase wrong, mixed up steps that were in numerical order, failed to fit wedges underneath stairs so that they met, and used only half the glue provided. Resulting in dangerous stairs that started to come apart. Have had two joiners and the company that made the stairs look at them and all have said shocking work on something that is usually put together by young apprentices. Contacted joiner to complain refused to answer phone resulting in numerous text messages eventually got back and blaimed the stairs and an electrician present for "getting in the way", refused to pay money to have stairs corrected. Also carried out work constructing internal walls in loft conversion, these were fine, that was why we contacted him hoping he would be decent enough to correct the stairs, however were swore at on the phone and told he was not going to fix. Answer from tradesperson: Only took money for work that was carried out, told client I needed to comeback and finish off staircase that was assembled in a very tight space with furniture in it that was meant to be cleared. Answered first phone call from client in which he was very abusive to me, I offered to go back and finish off but client said he had no money to pay for extra work Reply created 31 Jan 2012

Erection of timber framed eco house. Alan erected and finished out a timber frame, super-insulated, low energy house for me. Alan's work is of a very high quality, has an excellent knowledge of building methods and works hard to ensure important tasks are completed on time. I have recommended Alan to other people, and indeed he is again currently working for me, and is repeating his high standards.

Built 2 extensions onto clients house Alan has completed several Building Works for us, we find Alan honest reliable and concenious,a very friendly person, he also has a wealth of experience with a high quality finish,and have recommended Alan to our friends who have been looking for a joiner,The work completed is two Sun rooms one which was quite complex with a copper roof,completed on time and within budget,Alan is very strong in aspects of building work,
