Detailed reviews
Work was started on 28th November 2023. £1,000.00 Cash Deposit was demanded. Since the Bank refused my request and contacted the authorities to verify the Company. However, this was cleared within a few days . The workmen left the job one evening and failed to make sure that the property covering was insitu. During the night, it rained causing a flood in my bedroom and a large stain on the ceiling. The job was not completed until 7the February 2024. The damage to the ceiling remains.
I think the work they did was good enough. However I asked before they started the job if the contents of my loft would be harmed by falling debris etc. "No, no problem". That was a lie, the loft was full of build dust, bits of mortar, wood, tile and on 2 occasions there was overnight rain and the work wasn't made waterproof. I have soaked insulation, damage from dust and water. It was a mess. I have no idea of the total cost as I'm still trying to sort out the mess they made. Their clean up consisted of a broom and vacuum (mine, theirs was bust). Also broken tiles in the lawn outside.

What to check before you hire
Roofing isn't licensed, so anyone can set up - and it's a trade with more than its share of cowboys. A big re-roof must meet building regulations; CompetentRoofer (the Government-authorised NFRC scheme) registers roofers who can self-certify that, and vets and inspects them at least twice a year. Check they're on it before you hire.
