Loft Ladder fitting Hired Dan for installation of a loft ladder (with some exact specifications) which proved to be much more difficult than first thought due to the placement of my loft hatch. 2 hours turned into 9 hours - with Dan working solidly. Original quote kept, left everything clean & tidy, unbelievably no swearing! Friendly, polite and punctual - would highly recommend Dan to anyone - have already done so to two other people. This info comes first hand rather than third.

various plumbing/boiler jobs I hired Dan to do three jobs at home. The first was to replace various radiators and the second to fix a leak on my boiler and the third to replace a tap in my kitchen. He was prompt to respond to my posting and answer any questions which I had with regards the quote given. He arrived on time and worked hard throughout the day completing all of the radiators and the boiler in day one and returning the following morning as agreed to replace the tap. Dan was friendly, informative, honest and really knew his stuff. I am totally satisfied with the finished job and would highly recommend him to anyone and will certainly use him again.

Finding pipe leak(minor)+ Kitchen silicon replacement Came on time on saturday morning, quickly identify the leak issue which previous plumber missed. Then professionallly replace the silicon sealing, i will definitely call Dan next time.

Immersion heater on E7 Cylinder not working Dan quoted me £30 for a call out diagnose the problem. He then said it would be £120 to rectify the problem via messages on here. I don't live @ the property as it's tenanted. He turned up on time and diagnosed a problem with the elements and told my tenant he couldn't fix it there and then and that it would be in fact £150 to fix. She then had to take a day off work (she’s a supply teacher so lost a days work). He then returned today and diagnosed the problem again. This time saying the problem was electrical and with the Economy 7. The reason he diagnosed the problem incorrectly 1st time was he meter was faulty. He proceeded to the electrical box where he broke the seal and told my tenant to deny all knowledge of knowing it was now broken – UNBELIEVABLE!! He also took his Dad with him today and apparently (I wasn’t there so I’m just replaying information from my tenant) He then charged my tenant £50 for the privilege! But I though diagnoses was £30… (I wasn’t there so I’m just replaying information from my tenant), his Dad wanted to charge £70. My Tenant said Father and son didn’t appear to work together well and found it difficult to agree on anything. Shame a correct diagnosis couldn’t have been made in the first place, because I wouldn’t have a broken electrical seal, my tenant would be a day’s money up (in fact now she has to have more time off for an electrician to visit) and I would have been charged £30 instead of the £50!! Answer from tradesperson: I quoted £30 to test the elements, something Laura had not paid full attention to prior to hiring me. When testing the elements they appeared to be faulty, further tests using another meter revealed they were not. I apologised at once an agreed to test the circuits. I carried out a test on part of the economy7 where I had to cut a seal. Laura or her tenant’s property has not been damaged and I did not imply bias to her tenant. I thoroughly respected the propert
