His work as an architect and furniture designer has gained consistent international media attention and much acclaim in the industry. About Bart - Awards & Experience Bart qualified as an architect and urban designer in 1996. Having joined a prestigious Dutch architectural firm he wins the coveted European Europan 5 competition for young architects in 1999. Followed by the first prize in the Royal Institute of Dutch Architects competition of 2001. Both entries were made in cooperation with Patrick de Louwere and in 2004 the two young men take the plunge and found their own office for architecture and interior design in Rotterdam – eijkingdelouwere. They quickly make their mark as the ‘go-to’ address for office design and were handed a 2006 Best of Year Large Office Design Award by US Interior Design magazine in the Guggenheim Museum, New York.
