"Good communication on work to be completed, how and when. Not at home when work completed but not a leaf left lying about when we returned and trees shaped nicely. Can't fault the service at all."

"Robert and his team did a fantastic job. They arrived on time and worked very quickly - checking in with us regularly to check we were happy with the work they were doing. The left the site spotless and did a wonderful job. They were also extremely fairly priced. I would highly recommend them."

Arboricultural Association ARB Approved Contractors are independently assessed for the quality of their tree work, their qualifications, their insurance and their health & safety, and are re-assessed regularly. Check they're listed before work starts near your home or power lines.

Check they carry public-liability insurance (commonly £2–5m) and ask to SEE the certificate — tree work is high-risk and damage to your property, a neighbour's, or a person is expensive to put right.

Before any felling or heavy pruning, check whether the tree is protected — a preservation order, a conservation area, or active bird nesting — because YOU, the homeowner, can be fined for unauthorised work, not just the contractor.

Get the scope in writing (which trees, how much to take off, and who removes the waste and grinds the stump), and never pay in full before the work is finished.
