Horrendous experience. Basically took money and did such a poor job that other tradespeople actually laughed at the amateur and disgusting quality from these cheats.

Whilst the quality of work was good unfortunately we were left with all rubble and plaster outside the front door and our blue bin heavily contaminated and the council refused to empty it.

Property Care Association members hold recognised damp-surveying qualifications (CSRT/CSSW), follow a code of ethics and must have traded at least three years. Check they're a PCA member before you accept a damp-treatment quote.
Check the PCA registerGet an INDEPENDENT damp survey — not a free one from the firm that wants to sell you the treatment. A free survey has every incentive to diagnose expensive 'rising damp', when the problem is often condensation, a leak, or high ground level that needs no chemical injection.
Insist they identify and fix the underlying CAUSE — a leak, blocked airbricks, poor ventilation, failed pointing — before agreeing to an injected damp-proof course, and ask them to explain why simpler fixes won't work.
Get the diagnosis and an itemised quote in writing, and be wary of pressure to sign on the spot for a long 'guarantee' that is only worth anything while that firm is still trading.
