Neil did an excellent job repairing my brick wall. He provided a very competitive quote, and didn't increase the price when the job was more difficult than expected and needed more materials. He was very good on communications and reliable with planned dates for the works. He is also a very nice man to work with. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

Re-pointing Victorian house From start to finish, Neil did a terrific job addressing numerous external, serious cracks, re-pointing, brick replacement, plinth renewing and other external repairs on our Victorian house including renewing the front door step. He quoted properly having reviewed and discussed the work and our requirements in detail. He was always on time, polite, professional and always left the site safe and tidy. It was a big job and Neil had a small team who worked really well together to deliver a great job. When we spotted additional items that needed doing, the costs and effort were always agreed up front before work began. We couldn't be happier with the quality of the work and Neil. His experience and knowledge shines through. Look no further!

Brickwork/render cracking. Neil and his assistant arrived to work on my property at the time and days arranged and set to work immediately. Parking near my property was "challenging" (my description) for the two days work needed to complete the task, but Neil and his assistant were not fazed by this at all. The rear entrance to my property is more or less overtaken by nature, the only thing missing was David Attenborough and a camera crew, but once again this was all taken in "in stride." Working space near the outside house wall was restricted, but Neil and assistant were able to put up the necessary work tower despite some contortions needed to fit it and climb it. (Again, no fuss) They worked with minimum disruption and cleaned up after themselves. The price Neil charged was very fair and I was able to pay the day after the work was completed by bank transfer. When it comes to my Victorian mid terrace I have a snail mentality ( I carry the damn thing on my back! ) but Neil and his assistant were quite happy for me to look in on the work at regular times for updates. Neil and his assistant did an excellent job in challenging conditions (parking, access, space, and dodging the weather) I have no hesitation in recommending Mclean Construction. Many thanks.

New front wall I advertised my job (a front garden wall to be replaced) and Neil was one of a few that responded. He gave me a good quote. He was receptive to my ideas and also made some good suggestions from his own experience. He arranged everything from the skip permit through to the job being completed. Very clean, clearing up as he went (for me a Sign of a good builder). He kept me updated throughout the job sending me regular photos as per my request. Main thing was the end product of which I cannot be more pleased with. Superb job of which neighbours have already been asking for his contact details. A1 job, will use again and will recommend.

Professional 1st class experienced reliable Bricklayer Neil has been a fantastic builder, he is reliable, trustworthy and very experienced, nothing is to much trouble, we found his work to be first class, we have received so many compliments, right from the very start from digging the footings out for our extension Neil was our crutch,he has so much knowledge, Neil is very particular with the standard of his work, he is very helpful. Building a front garden wall Neil was extremely helpful in advising me how I could design my wall to get the (vintage) bricks I wanted, within my available budget. He did the job quickly and to a high standard. I would definitely recommend to others.

Garden wall Neil did a great job constructing a 6 foot garden wall in Greenwich, getting it all done in the time he said he would in spite of having to work around the wet weather! He was very diligent at tidying up and the wall looks great - built with reclaimed bricks, you can't tell it's 50 years newer than the one behind it! I'd definitely use Neil again and recommend his services. (Updated on 12 Feb 2019)

I need very good experienced bricklayer (who understand UK drawings/requirements) to build up 2 cavity walls with thermalite blocks (6m long each and 2.5m height) and kingspan between 10/10/10 wall size. The walls are for large extension and need to be build properly as there will be another floor. Neil is a great guy, did the job perfectly like the old school builders, very happy with him will continue working with him as soon as get another building permission because he is not overcharging, and he knows what is he doing so you will avoid issues with building inspectors. Wish him all the best and hope to see him soon on my property for the next improvement.

Neil took time to consider what was wrong with my property and discuss the options, helpful (bought a product for me, that he recommended I use after he had finished his part of the work) and kept in contact as needed. The work itself was good and well presented. Left the premises tidy as well. A positive experience.
