Refurb staircase Answer from tradesperson: a mistake of mine meant the glass for the balustrade was the wrong size. I took responsibility for the mistake and offered to pay for replacement glass. the customers asked us to raise extend the newel posts and for the glass we had. I told them we did have much materials left but i do as they wanted. when the customer complained about a join i suggested twp options, 1. that I would use specially purchased french polishing material to hid the join. 2 that if they weren't happy, that if they purchased some more materials I would remake the post. both myself and my son have offered to go back to work through any snag list the compiled. from what I have been told by the customer herself is that they have had problems with every builder who has worked at their property. Common denominator being the customer. I have attached photos before and after. As well as a picture of the the join that caused the initial problem.
