Full modernisation of 2bed terraced house We have hired Dan and Raf (D&R henceforth) for the renovation of our newly purchased Victorian terraced house. We solicited a few quotes from different companies and decided on proceeding with D&R as the quote was not only one of the most competitive in terms of price but also very detailed and straightforward in terms of the material and labour costs for the different parts of the work. D&R (together with their team workers) have done a complete top-to-bottom renovation of the property, including re-wiring, some structural work (removal of two load-bearing walls), installation of new wooden floors, tiling and installation of new kitchen and bathroom, fitting of new internal and external doors, some carpentry work. By the end of the work the total cost of the renovation work did not deviate significantly from the quote we had initially been given. Also the works were concluded largely within the deadline agreed preceding the works (11 weeks instead of 10 for a complete renovation). D&R have been particularly helpful in providing suggestions throughout the project, and they were often in contact with us to ensure that the renovation was in line with our preference. The scope of work has changed a few times throughout the course of the project, and D&R have always been able to accommodate our requests. Overall, we are extremely happy with the overall results and we would highly recommend D&R’s services.

3 bed house renovation We had a poor experience with DR Builders and would not use again or recommend. We felt the team lacked the depth, experience or skill required for a full house renovation such as ours. Project completed July 2015. Key points: Our structural engineer noted: ’They do not know how to follow technical drawings’. Bi-fold door steel cut too short, then fitted and cemented over, discovered by structural engineer Re-laid reclaimed slates on roof, but did not know how to grade slate = more broken slates than before job. Roof cement work done by unskilled labourer using fingers/hands. When confronted, they admitted work was "embarrassing" and "crap". Was rectified but cost us approximately £1,500 more Incompetent and inadequate carpentry skills - v. poor work throughout house Decorating x2 rooms done well. Poor quality work elsewhere (sanding and painting same place, same time) French door fitted without DPM membrane, frame not affixed to wall: door did not open, which currently getting re-installed at significant cost and mess. Two other windows do not open, possibly for similar reasons but not checked yet. Plumbing: quoted to install new pipe work and heating system = Rads fitted to wall without wall plugs, subsequently x2 falling of wall and leaking; Some pipe work not replaced (despite paying for significant amount of new pipe), resulting in new system full of sludge. Pipes not lagged or secured, so very noisy. Gas boiler not commissioned - so illegal install. Result is on-going remedial work at significant cost. Front door not fitted properly or securely and left while we were on holiday Hired labourers throughout project with whom they had no relationship or history. We found it very hard to understand how the materials we purchased were in fact used on our project - very difficult to audit. Small House Renovation After getting a few quotes for renovating our house, we chose to go with D.R Builders. Their price was very reasonable and they were the most polite, professional, and easy to talk to out of the lot. Throughout the process, the guys were extremely communicative and helpful, making sure we were happy with their work and talking us through the process at each step (we had never done anything like this before). Inevitably, unforeseen problems cropped up with the house (hidden rotten ceiling beams, etc), but they kept us in the loop at all times and were extremely adept at coming up with solutions; all the while keeping their eye on the budget and going above-and-beyond in terms of work ethic to get the job done to a high standard. I'd wholeheartedly recommend D.R Builders, and personally will be using them every time I need work done! Thank you Raf, Dan, and the team, for making a stressful process more manageable, and completing everything on-time and with a great eye for detail.

Various building works/repairs, victorian house Daniel and his crew are excellent, was very happy with all aspects of the job and he was generous with time and advice, recommended!

Rip out and replace existing 3 piece suite. Fit bath, basin, toilet. Marble surround around bath. Fit new bath shower and shower screen. Refurbish sash window, part tile, install flooring. Room may need to be re-skimmed prior to decorating. Possible relocation of soil pipe. Room approximately 2.8 x 2.5m Site visit required before we buy the new suite. This was the last major project for our house and we wanted to achieve a very particular style and finish. We were nervous about choosing the right contractor and I am happy to say that DR Builders did not disappoint. His team were punctual, friendly and polite. Daniel listened to our feedback and dealt with any changes to the spec efficiently and professionally. Most importantly, the finish throughout is absolutely fantastic. If you want to transform your bathroom, I strongly recommend that you talk to DR Builders.

Replace bathroom suite Daniel and his colleague have done a great job refurbishing my bathroom. I was impressed by Daniel's approach during his site visit, discussing what I wanted to do and how he would do the work. He provided a very competitive quote and was available to start the job at a time that suited me. The work has just been completed, just as described. Daniel and his colleague are very professional, methodical and tidy in their work. Daniel also pays a great attention to detail and finishing and the job has been completed on time and to a very high standard. The bathroom looks great and I am delighted. I wouldn't hesitate in using Daniel again. In fact, I've already discussed another job with him

Bathroom re-fit We used D.R. Builders to fit a new bathroom for us this month (June 2013). Daniel (owner) is amazing: so friendly & helpful & responded to ALL our requests with, "yes of course we can". It has been really refreshing to work with a builder who makes you feel like the job is not an inconvenience & that to get what you're wanting really isn't too much trouble. We are delighted with the finish of the job, would definitely use Daniel & his team again, and would absolutely recommend them to anyone.

New bathroom, painting flat and bedroom flooring Daniel and his team has done an excellent job in refurbishing my place. The workmanship is of a very high standard and they left the place neat and clean at the end of the job. Daniel was very communicative throughout the entire process, responding to emails promptly, checking in when necessary and keeping me update of progress. He is a pleasure to deal with and I have no hesitation in recommending him.

Locating and repairing leak. I would recommend Daniel 100%. He was prompt, friendly and very trustworthy. He was also incredibly proffesional and knowledgeable. I have dealt with a lot of plumbers in the past, and cannot emphasise enough how much better a service Daniel offers than any plumber I have used before. His pricing is also very reasonable and he was very honest (I have no doubt he was only doing what needed to be done, rather than fishing for work).

Thoroughly recommended and will use again, very grateful for this site to be able to find trustworthy capable tradesmen.

Refurbishment of a small 3 bedroom house in Archway N19 Daniel and his team renovated a house for us. Daniel's quote was the best quote that we received. The work that they did was excellent. As is usual for a refurbishment, things came up that were unexpected. They dealt with these issues with complete calm and just got on with the job. I didn't need to check on them constantly and they didn't need to be asked twice to do anything. I would mention it in passing and it would be complete the next time I visited the site. The work was done to a high standard and they worked REALLY hard to finish it on time. They are also completely trustworthy and honest. I would highly recommend Daniel and his team. I will be using them again.

Replace/Install basin tap in Archway/Hornsey area. Daniel arrived promptly and was very efficient. He got the job done at the agreed price and the tap he replaced is in good working order. I would recommend Daniel to other people.

Kitchen tap needs replacing. Daniel did a good job replacing my kitchen tap. He was on time, tidy and kept to his initial quote. I would recommend him.

A few jobs around the house (1-2 days work) Really good job. They did everything as asked and always sought approval if unsure. Good standard of finish. I will be using them again, highly recommended.

Tiling & Painting & Decorating I am DELIGHTED with the work that Daniel has done. I had been badly let down by some previous builders (poor quality and unfinished work), and so hired Daniel to finish the work. Work mainly included tiling, painting, plastering and a bit of plumbing. The work has been completed as promised, in the time quoted and to a high standard. I was particularly impressed with the fact that after each day, they would tidy up after themselves, so when I returned home from work it didn't feel like living in a building site!! I shall be keeping his contact details and will try and hire Daniel for any future jobs I might have.

Disconnecting the washing machine Honest, clean tidy workman. Would Recommend.

Finishing off He came - quoted - and then came back as promised and finished the job for me - so painless and my bathroom looks lovely. Will use him again for sure.
