Highlights

"rebuilding brick wall with lots of limestone features Hired Peter Gordelier/Resurrection Stonework to repair and restore a 19th century boundary wall on my Victorian house that had been severely damaged by an articulated lorry. The job was competitively priced During the job the site was kept clean, tidy and safe. Materials and methods used were in keeping with the age of the property. Both Peter and his co-worker Lee demonstrated great knowledge and skill. They take great pride in what they do and do it to the very best of their (considerable) ability.. The competed work blended in so well with the existing old brickwork and sandstone that it is difficult to tell what is original and what is repaired/restored. Nothing looks new, it just looks as it should and it's perfect. They have achieved what I didn't think possible and I truly believe the work could not have been bettered by anyone. At any price."

"stone and brick cleaning. extensive repairs to detailed stucco and copings. brick replacement, and pointing to 75% of property. lime mortar was used on all repairs and pointing. Peter and his partner Lee can be described as true craftsmen, both with great skill, applying attention to detail, and who both appear to love their work. I feel I achieved true value for money in the work that was done (which I extended as their qualities shone through). The project started with the repair of crumbling stonework required in the restoration of our 18th and 19th century house in a conservation area. Some areas had to be completely replaced, using pattern formers that Peter and his partner Lee created by reference to the original sound stonework. I engaged them further for replacement of badly damaged bricks, repointing with lime mortar, and replacement of yorkstone front doorsteps, and I can't fault anything that they have done."

"We have worked for this client for over 10 years doing restoration and repairs. A recently completed project was the removal of a cement slurry over brickwork of her Grade II listed home. We have recently completed a walled garden using Tudor bricks and lime mortar. Peter has been nothing but reliable, conscientious and professional. Peter has always worked with my demands and my need for everything to be pure and true to its original. Peter has been my stonemason for 12 years firstly restoring a three-storey town house and now on my home which is listed and dates back to the 17th century with 18th century and Victorian additions. Work has not just been external but also internal restoration and repair has been carried out. I cannot recommend Peter highly enough. Examples of Peter's work are cleaning up Victorian brickwork that was covered in a cement slurry and then replacing the pointing with lime, taking out damaged bricks and either turning them or replacing. Replacement of modern concrete cills with Northampton stone; repairing Georgian cills. Repointing the 17th century part of my home plus that of an out-building. Internal work has included replacing modern plaster with lime plaster thereby resolving a damp problem. Replacing cement pointing in a cellar stairwell. All of this work was carried out with extreme care and sympathy"
