"Paid £300 deposit but as work began I found Romac "under review" by Checkatrade. I found: name on headed paper used for quote (“Romac: security, fire and electrical services”) not the same as on Checkatrade ("Romac Security”); company address and email on headed paper did not match that used by trader; website inactive. Overall I was concerned about company identity. I phoned trader who understood, agreed to stop work and reimburse deposit. Since then no response from trader to my calls and emails. I offered by registered letter (10/02/19) to pay £100.30 to cover trader costs. Still no reply."
