I had a quote for a number of things that needed doing to remediate some rising damp in a property - although there was some confusion as I booked with mouldaway but the work was carried out by Rushcliffe damp proofing. The initial work that was carried out seems okay, although it has stained the walls which will now require redecorating. Once the work had been done, they pushed me to pay ASAP, and offered 50 pounds off if I could pay sooner. Even though this was a little strange, I paid, only to find out from my tenants that not all the work had been carried out and that the gutters had not b
I placed a review on this site and they eventually came back.The work is of the lowest standard , it is falling off, very poor and uneven. It is out of true by up to 2 inches and is not fit for purpose. They use 4 different telephone numbers. Were paid in full and then reneged on an agreemet to come back and will not answer their phones. The trade uses his address and does all the quoting and talking. They only work a few hours a day and do not have the resources to buy materials. Misrepresentation at its worst.
DO NO USE THIS COMPANY - Alex is a complete cowboy; totally unreliable, doesn’t not honour his guarantee, even after giving his word. After months of trying to track him down, he reluctantly agreed to carry out remedial works in July 2022- since then I have been chasing him and the works still haven’t been done - he continues to blame others. His company name is misleading- he isn’t isn’t based in Rushcliffe. I’m shocked he has high ratings. He turns up hours late or just doesn’t turn up. He is a total time waster and I’d never recommend to anyone.

Damp proofing of an internal wall
Arrived bang on time. Pleasant and courteous. Got on with the job quickly and professionally. Took all the riubbish and old plaster away with them and left the room in a clean and tidy state. Charged a fair price and did exactly what they said they would do. Good job thank you.

AVOID. AVOID. AVOID. Installed system and then messaged me very unprofessionally for money. Took me weeks to get the warranty from them and now I need them to adjust the airflow they will not respond. AVOID.

Property Care Association members hold recognised damp-surveying qualifications (CSRT/CSSW), follow a code of ethics and must have traded at least three years. Check they're a PCA member before you accept a damp-treatment quote.
Check the PCA registerGet an INDEPENDENT damp survey — not a free one from the firm that wants to sell you the treatment. A free survey has every incentive to diagnose expensive 'rising damp', when the problem is often condensation, a leak, or high ground level that needs no chemical injection.
Insist they identify and fix the underlying CAUSE — a leak, blocked airbricks, poor ventilation, failed pointing — before agreeing to an injected damp-proof course, and ask them to explain why simpler fixes won't work.
Get the diagnosis and an itemised quote in writing, and be wary of pressure to sign on the spot for a long 'guarantee' that is only worth anything while that firm is still trading.
