Repair/Replacement of Sandstone Lintel I have been trying to contact this company for the last 6 months with no response. I have no option to believe that he no wants the work. Answer from tradesperson: I have since visiting this gentleman been treated for anxiety and depression as a result of a car crash a year ago. This has unfortunately necessitated a spell in hospital. My normally meticulous feedback and response to potential clients and clients alike has unfortunately suffered along with my ability to process information and carry out surveys along with completing some aspects of work. I have also had to scale back on the locations where we work to reduce the distances travelled. I can only apologise most sincerely to the gentleman in question. Reply created 30 Oct 2016

Repairs to corroded red sandstone I hired Doug to carry out extensive red sandstone repair to my house, predominately caused by being coated in linostone some years ago. Doug was quick to respond to the 'tender' on MyBuilder and provided an estimate shortly afterwards. On acceptance, Doug and his apprentice attended within the week and worked extremely hard to get the repairs carried out in a week. The quality of the work is very high standard and the sandstone now looked healthy and in original condition. Would recommend without hesitation.

Repoint in lime west gable of house Awesome, beautiful finish taking a river stone farmhouse back to its lime mortared glory. Stunning to look at, and put in place by a passioned operator who wanted the best finish. Highly recommended for knowledge, professionalism.

They fully refurbished my gable sandstone wall, removing all the old cement & repointing with lime mortar. Headstone I commissioned Doug to source a suitable headstone for my husband. I had very specific ideas in mind and Doug was very helpful, from coming out to my home to get to know what my husband was like as a person to finding a very specific and unusual piece of granite to use as the memorial. The final result more than exceeded my expectations and I am extremely grateful to Doug for all the work he put in from start to finish. Highly recommended. Thanks for all your help Doug.

Sandstone repairs, including intels, brick re-pointing Doug did a fantastic job of restoring a sandstone gable wall that had long been an eyesore due to previously applied repairs and re-pointing. He worked incredibly hard and very clearly had expertise and passion for his work. He was happy to explain about the materials he would use for the repair and how he would colour match and revive the existing sandstone. I was thrilled at what he was able to achieve within our agreed budget - it completely surpassed my expectations. A craftsman and an absolute gentleman.

Re-pointing and repair Did a great job efficiently and in keeping with our Victorian brick work. Was reliable and honest with his pricing. Would recommend.

Hand carved slate headstone Firstly I would like to say a massive thank you to Douglas Pieper for taking on this commission. I was a bit hesitant with regards to approaching a tradesman on this site for this type of work. I need not have worried. From the very first piece of correspondence and telephone conversation Doug put me at complete ease. He understood what I was trying to achieve and suggested various mediums and ideas. It was a very emotional time for our family and we wanted a natural headstone that would reflect our love for our mum and the rural setting that it would be placed. Doug balanced our thoughts and needs throughout the commission and rewarded us with a beautiful headstone that far exceeded what we had hoped for. It was at a very reasonable price also. Doug also transported the headstone a couple of hundred miles to a rural highland location and erected it (despite the terrible weather!) So the whole package from start to finish was bespoke. We wanted a headstone that was different to all the others and without hesitation I can say ( biased as I may be) it is the most attractive yet natural looking headstone in the cemetery. So without reservation I would recommend Doug for any type of work. Thank you once again.

Extensive refurbishment of 1920's cottage commencing with the bathroom and kitchen. Mr Pieper has recently completed work for me regarding the restoration of my cottage. This has included fitting a new bathroom suite, tiling of walls and floor + final decoration. Douglas has also redesigned and refitted the kitchen, including removal of walls and chimney breast, fitting of new doors and velux windows, re-plastering of walls, and fitting kitchen units and appliances. All the work has been carried out to a high professional standard which has more than met my own exacting standards. I am very pleased with the finished result. I would have no hesitation in recommending his work in house restoration.

Comprehensive restoration of sandstone home of Mr & Mrs Armstrong utilising lime-mortars and other natural materials. My property is a two storey sandstone seafront propery in Troon Ayrshire.The Sandstone was very badly weathered and requires considerable restoration work. The work was carried out to a high standard and I am completely satisfied both with the work and Select Sandstone who turned up on time when they said they would. The price was higher than quoted owing to more work being required than was initially thought.I believe it was good value for money I would have no hesitation in using Select Sandstone again

Detailed removal of cement based material from gable and facade of couple's home (some 56 bags) prior to detailed restoration utilising purely natural materials colour-matched to stonework and re-pointing with lime-mortars matched for both colour and texture to origonal construction mortar. Douglas repointed the exterior of my sandstone home and fixed the areas which had been previously covered with cement. His work appears to me to be of a very high quality using natural materials, my home certainly looks much smarter and the stonework should last a long time. The quote that Douglas gave was very accurate and his work was completed on schedule. Douglas worked hard and was pleasant to have around. My children were happy to talk to him and he always had a smile or wave for them. he kept me up to date on his progress and explained any issues that came up.
