Highlights

"We had a new consumer unit fitted, and I have to say that from the enquiry stage to the completion, Andy was very professional, meticulous in his work, punctual, answered E Mails in a timely manner, answered all of our questions, and even “hoovered” up after completion of the job. I would highly recommend him for any electrical work, and would certainly use him again for any electrical work we may need doing in the future."

"I first met Andy a few years ago when he completely rewired my home. And this time, he has rewired my office. Installing new lighting, hand dryers, sockets etc. He is about the only contractor I look forward to working with. Everything just feels easy, and the job always great. I recommend him to anyone who asks."

Andy dealt with the issue on the same day that I made him aware of the issue and it was carried out to a very high standard.

Why this helps you judge trust: this trader is linked to a registered company with named people who are legally accountable for it, on an official register anyone can check — a layer of accountability an unregistered trader doesn't offer. Around 7 years on the register also points to an established business rather than a brand-new one.

Electrical work in homes in England & Wales should be done by a registered competent person who can self-certify it meets the Part P safety rules. Check they're on the official register.

Check the electrical register
In England and Wales, notifiable electrical work (new circuits, a consumer unit, anything in a bathroom or kitchen) must by law be signed off under Part P of the Building Regulations — confirm they will handle that.
Prefer an electrician registered with a government-approved competent-person scheme (NICEIC, NAPIT or ELECSA) so they can self-certify the work meets the wiring regulations.
Insist on the Electrical Installation Certificate (or Minor Works Certificate) when the job is done — it is your proof the work is safe and compliant, and you will need it if you ever sell.
