Hired Robert Barwick to do the annual gas safety check on 12 December 2023. He failed us, saying it was because there is a vent too close to the boiler flue and that it requires a plume kit to make it safe. I have gas safety checks every year and was sceptical but paid an extra £230 on top the £100 I paid for the gas safety check. In December 2024 I contacted a different engineer for the GSC. He told me that the plume wasn't necessary and that the copper pipes under the boiler had small holes in them! He it was unlikely that the holes were only 12 months old - meaning Robert missed them!

Robert and his mate came on the day that Robert had stated. He explained everything to me and to my wife. His service was exemplary. He kept every thing clean and tidy. He did Power Flushing with a new machine which he had just purchased. His mate serviced the boiler and Robert carried out some repairs to our leaking cistern. He did not charge me any thing extra.
