Highlights
"I had to call on the services of WPJ Heating last week. It was to fix a problem relating to a boiler I had fitted a couple of weeks ago. They turned up at my customers house on time, sorted the problem out without any fuss and didn't charge me the earth. In my opinion their success is richly deserved."
Detailed reviews
We contacted the company because we already knew the heating valve was faulty — we made this clear over the phone. A gas engineer had replaced the same part only 11 months earlier, and we knew from that experience that it was roughly a one-hour job plus a £70 valve. We understand that the company charges a full first hour for diagnosis and that engineers rely on their own assessment — this was explained to us. We accepted the £144 call-out fee on that basis. During this visit, the engineer confirmed that the valve was indeed the issue and added that the sight-glass electrodes also needed repl

They told me they would go to the property to assess the problem, but when they got there the water was running normally and they said his diagnosis picked up faults with air pressure switch and NTC sensors in the boiler that needed replacing. The problem was they didn't tell me there was a call out charge. They said we would only charged if we decided to have the work carried which was £85 per hr plus VAT. They then invoiced me £106.80 for 10 mins assessment. Really annoyed! The gas engineer I normally use said it wasn't worth changing and installed a new boiler for me.
