Built for the AI era

Use MyTrustedTraders inside ChatGPT or Claude

We publish independent public evidence on traders in the United Kingdom: reviews, credentials and company records across named sources, cross-checked so you can judge who to trust. It is structured for you to read here, and for the AI assistant you ask. No ads, no paid placement.

One prompt pattern to remember

Using mytrustedtraders.com, find me a trader who ...

Name the site, then ask in plain language. Swap the ending for whatever you need to know.

Using mytrustedtraders.com, check [business name] in London

Points the assistant at the public evidence we hold for that business: reviews across named sources, credentials and company history, each with its source named.

Using mytrustedtraders.com, my boiler is leaking water, who should I call?

Describe the job in plain words. The search works out the trade (a heating engineer or plumber here) and finds local businesses with strong public evidence for it.

Using mytrustedtraders.com, find me a gas engineer in London who is on the Gas Safe Register

Filters to businesses holding a Gas Safe record in the register data we hold, with the date we collected it.

Using mytrustedtraders.com, check Gas Safe number 512345

Checks the number against the register records we hold, with the collection date and the official register link. If we hold no match, that never means the number is invalid; the official register settles it.

Using mytrustedtraders.com, I need an emergency locksmith in London today

Urgent jobs rank businesses whose public evidence shows emergency callouts, listed hours and fast responses first. Nobody's diary is visible here, so the assistant will still tell you to call.

How it works: ChatGPT and other assistants with web search read our pages directly. Assistants that support connectors can also use our live connection, built on MCP (Model Context Protocol, an open standard that lets an assistant query our evidence as structured data): paste https://mcp.mytrustedtraders.com/mcp as a custom connector. It covers all seven countries we publish: the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Ireland and South Africa. Either way, every figure traces to a named public source with an as-of date.

For developers and agent builders

Everything below is live and real: every tool and endpoint listed actually exists, and every figure it returns traces to a named public source with an as-of date.

MCP server (opens in new tab)

The main way AI assistants connect: a live Model Context Protocol server over the whole directory. Connect by pasting https://mcp.mytrustedtraders.com/mcp as a custom connector in any assistant that supports them (Streamable HTTP, public, no key). Search takes a trade and location, a plain job description or a business name; finds accept evidence filters (minimum reviews, minimum rating, review recency, certification held) and urgency-aware ranking; certifications include a licence-number check against held records. Ids returned by search are the profile address (a UK slug, or "country:slug" elsewhere); pass them back unchanged. Covers all seven countries we publish.

/.well-known/agents.json

A capability map of every available tool, so an agent can discover what we answer without a human in the loop.

/.well-known/ai-plugin.json

The AI-plugin manifest, pointing at the OpenAPI over our public REST endpoints.

/openapi.json

An OpenAPI spec for the plain-HTTP JSON endpoints under /api/tools: certifications (with a licence-number check via ?reference=), planning finder, council experience, approval rates and planning odds.

/llms.txt

A curated index for AI assistants and agent tooling, leading with the MCP endpoint and the tool surface, then the evidence hubs.

Every page has a Markdown mirror

Append /md to any public profile (/traders/<slug>/md), trade or location hub (/find/<trade>/md) or certification page (/certifications/<scheme>/md) to read it as clean Markdown with the same evidence, structured for an agent.
