Professional conservatory constructors
We first met James and Acorn back in 2013 when we asked them to quote for a conservatory for our new home. From that moment on throughout the designing, estimating, quoting and construction phases James and the Acorn team delivered an on-time and on-budget project with a level of professionalism and service not often found in the construction industry – the result was a wonderful addition to our home. Over the years since then we have had a few niggles (like double glazing panels blowing – always to be expected given the extreme temperatures experienced in south facing conservatories) to which the Acorn response has always been excellent and nothing has been too much trouble! We will definitely ask James and the Acorn team to help fulfil our next project whenever that may be!

New doors and windows
We have had all new windows, front door and french windows from Acorn and we couldn’t be happier. From our first meeting with James when he came to look at the job to when the fitters came who were very polite and tidy we were very impressed. They kept us up to date with the process and found their customer service great with all aftercare.

Highly Recommended
I’ve just had a replacement conservatory supplied and installed by Acorn, I can’t recommend them highly enough, from my initial enquiry with James then Mick, both listened to our requirements and offered great ideas and solutions to us, we then had the pleasure of Tony and Andy who did the initial alterations groundwork and the building element of the project, I can’t fault anything they’ve done, we have since had “Thomo” and Adam to install the replacement conservatory itself, these guys are first class at what they do, all the guys who have been on site have worked to a really high standard and are respectful to our property and my family, you can tell these guys enjoy their work and take a great deal of pride in what they do and who they work for. I can’t thank you all enough it’s been a great experience dealing with you all

Garage conversion
James and his team were consummate professionals from the initial concept. They worked through our plan and introduced new ideas and strategies that added value at every step. Mick was a real stalwart of the ground operation; constantly on hand and at the end of a phone he kept us updated and tracked changes ensuring we were appraised of all developments. Building regulations sign off were a given. On the tactical side the team was punctual, professional, polite and tidy- we could ask for no more! Pricing was fair and below market quotes previously experienced. We are delighted with Acorn’s ability to turn our complexity into simplicity which translated into a stunning design and fully utilised space. Fully recommended: we cannot recommend them highly enough and have pushed their details to friends and colleagues. 10/10 all round!

The original quote increased 3 times for exactly the same job
The job is to replace / rework and existing side extension 1m x 3m with 2 outside doors, roof and flooring. No foundation work would be required. David came out to see me on 11 May 2026 to evaluate the work to be carried out. He said that if I agreed to his estimate then their project manager would come out to provide a more accurate quote. He also said that they would provide the labour for the new flooring but that I would have to buy the materials myself separately - I replied that I found that surprising as they do conservatories. The office sent me a quote shortly after for just under £10k. After chasing over a few weeks the project manager Mick finally came to see me on 12 June. He turned up half an hour late in a double glazing van for a different company, and then spent several minutes on his mobile in the van outside my house. As I wasn't sure if this was a different tradesman for someone else I phoned him to ask when he expected to arrive - after speaking to him he came out of the van. I received a quote from the office later that day saying that just adding a rubber membrane to the roof would code £10K (I pointed out in reply that I can buy a kit from Amazon to do this myself for around £200), and that the whole job would cost around £30K. This is 3 times the original estimate for a 1m x 3m extension and I would have to provide the new flooring on top of that. They still haven't revised it a few days later so this quote wasn't an error.

New Conservatory & Front Door
Acorn demolished our existing conservatory and replaced it with a larger conservatory. We also had new patio doors and front door. Very pleased with the quality , how they kept us updated at every stage. Good team of friendly workers who were reliable and tidy at every stage. The main coordinator Mick always kept us in the loop and was quick to address any minor issues we may have had. Very pleased with end result and would highly recommend.

An excellent job from start to finish.
Acorn Windows constructed our conservatory to a very high standard. We were fully supported by Acorn's expertise from design to completion. Absolutely fantastic company!
We required a single storey extension to provide extra space and a much needed second toilet to out home, from the moment James arrived to provide a quote we felt very confident and at ease with what James suggested. We have not been disappointed with our choice! We would like to say a huge thank you to this team, Mick the project manager was amazing, nothing too much trouble and always at hand when needed, overlooking the whole project. Thank you to Lee & Lee who got us out the ground ( in some awful weather!) Too many to mention them all, but what an amazing team. Would not hesitate to recommend, a big thank you, our extension looks amazing!!

Another superb job
Acorn have done an exceptional job replacing the all of the soffits and fascias to our property, along with the jewel in the crown, our newly rendered and boarded front elevation (see photo). Throughout the whole project, James, Mick 1, Mick 2 and the team have been nothing short of exceptional with the quality of work and level of customer care. I've used Acorn for over 20 years now and wouldn't dream of going anywhere else for our windows, doors, and building work.

Front Extension, Keyworth, Nottinghamshire
Acorn Windows were the first choice to extend our lounge and add a downstairs toilet, after the great job they did building us a conservatory a few years ago. The quality of the work is first class and they always left everything clean and tidy each day. Attention to detail and care were outstanding and nothing was ever too much trouble. The number of people who have commented on the workmanship, as they have passed by, has been amazing. A great company to work with, I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Another great job from Acorn Windows......
Just had our old kitchen window replaced with a new one from Acorn Windows. Not s straight replacement as we wanted a slightly larger window which involved the removal of one course of bricks. But as usual no job is beyond the capabilities of Acorn Windows and we are delighted with the result. The fitters arrived within their allocated time and were both pleasant and courteous. They worked tirelessly to complete the job which included replacing a double glazed unit in our conservatory. The product is excellent quality and the work was completed to a high standard. Would not hesitate to recommend. A big thank you to James, Sam and the entire team. Finally, do not believe some of the very poor reviews out there which are clearly levelled at a different company. New Windows & Lintel
I have had work done by this company a few years ago and was very pleased, hence employing them again. The product quality is excellent and has certainly added value to the property. The only problem we had this time was due to an unexpected lack of man power, leaving just one fitter to do the job by himself, which took almost a week to complete what should have been 1 to 2 days. However, having spoken with the company, they rearranged the fitter’s schedule to allow him to get the job done, this man deserves a bonus, having worked until 10:30pm one day laying bricks (for the lintel) in the dark. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone in the future.

Great fitters on both occasions as the work was split into two jobs. I was clearly informed that this would be the case by Acorn. All work went exactly to plan, on time and with no issues. Amazing conservatory
Needed a new conservatory as our was leaking. We decided to go for a half brick on existing foundations with glass roof. From start to finish a great service. Helpful advice regarding how to build the conservatory and the shape to go for. Clear plans-Mick was so thoughtful and helpful. Meticulous planning. Project date given and adhered to. Whole project completed in under 3 weeks and that included drying time for bricks. All workman arrived on time and were so courteous and respectful. All worked really hard and cleared up after themselves. Mick was always checking on progress and ensuring the teams were there on the day they were booked. Attention to detail was brilliant. All workman took real pride in their work. The built in lights really finish the job and I am glad we were guided to have them. What particularly stood out for me is the extras they did -plastering of existing wall after striping paint off and replacing the skirting boards to ensure the project was completed and looked good despite that not being part of original plans but just needed doing. I cant rate Acorn highly enough This is the fourth project at our house and I would use no other. Thank you

Outstanding quality and service
Many thanks to all at Acorn for the excellent service. From initial enquiry through survey and fitting, everyone has been extremely professional and prompt. Nothing to fault
Acorn windows removed my fragile, dirty stain glass leaded window and cleaned it before encapsulating it in a double glazed unit and fitting it. The communication throughout was excellent ( four visits needed ) and we are delighted with the results.
