Acorn Windows (Nottingham) Limited

We initially had Acorn in to replace our windows and doors in 2021 as we felt they had the highest quality product of the quotes we had received. We encountered a few issues but were incredibly impressed with how they resolved everything, with the MD James coming out, going over our concerns, making a plan to resolve them all and waiting until we were fully happy before our final payment. Our doors and windows are excellent and we've had multiple compliments on how well they look with our Victorian house, particularly the composite door. We called them again when we started to consider getting our extension done, James came out a couple of times to go over plans with us, then when we were ready to commit, the quote they provided was the most competitive of the 3 we received, plus we had met the project manager Mick previously and instantly felt in good hands so put a deposit down. Sadly, the plans fell through on the discovery of sewer lines surrounding our house that we couldn't build near. James and Mick were very supportive in discussing solutions and Mick came out to meet our building planner, even opening up the sewer covers to work out what we may or may not be able to do which was incredibly helpful and led us to the decision to sell rather compromise on our plans. Despite us offering to cover both of their times, James was understanding of our situation and fully refunded the deposit. We would use them for any other building work without question. Highly recommend.

I have been using Acorn Windows for around 20 years, starting with soffits, facias & guttering. Since then I have helped both my son and daughter with work on their first own homes and now some on the mother-in-law's house in two weeks time. Yesterday we had a new back door with side window fitted. Initially there were some problems for the first time ever with the fitting date being re-arranged 3 times. So I was very frustrated with Acorn. It seems these delays were caused by illness in their fitting teams and they recently explained they don't like using contract fitters whose work may not be to the same standards as their own employed fitters. In the end we were pleased with this approach as Jason & Roger did a great job yesterday. They were both very pleasant and explained all they were doing. When finished they demonstrated the workings of the door, including how the key should be used for locking (slightly different from some other doors). They also cleaned up well and left no mess. So our faith in Acorn has been restored and we look forward to a similarly high quality job at the mother-in law's in two weeks time.

This is the 3rd time that we've used Acorn, having previously used them to replace our upstairs & bay windows. This time, we needed to replace our back door. Edgar was very helpful in suggesting the different options that were available to us, & we ultimately went with his recommendation of a door with an integral tilt & turn panel. The installation engineer was also very helpful & did an excellent job with the installation, including showing us how to use the lock & keys (which operate in a slightly unusual way). The integral tilt & turn panel looked even better than we expected, and we have been making full use of it ever since. After the installation, we had some minor issues with obtaining extra keys and the door started sticking. We reported these issues to Acorn and the Managing Director came round to discuss them in person. This was a mutually beneficial process, and we were very happy with both the discussion and the resultant action. It is rare to find a company that is so willing to own, learn from and rectify their mistakes. We will definitely keep using Acorn in future!

Following a significant amount of research we chose Acorn to replace our windows and doors. This was based on feedback from other customers and the obvious experience of their salesman and surveyor. At no time were they pushy, which cannot be said of other companies we requested quotes from. Their quote was competitive and we made several revisions which were all captured in the specification. When the installation started it became clear that removing the existing windows was going to be extremely difficult, but at no stage was it suggested that a short cut would be taken. The installation team (father and son) worked incredibly hard to ensure that all aspects of the specification were followed. The quality of work was outstanding. Having read so many stories about double glazing nightmares it was refreshing to have the work completed stress free. Choosing Acorn shows the benefit of choosing a family run company that really care about their customers, I cannot recommend them enough.

We've just had our rear window & lintel fitted yesterday. Both the guys (Jason & Roger) that carried out the work at our house today have been fantastic! They were both really polite, clean & tidy, very knowledgeable & have done an excellent job going above & beyond, cannot fault them or their workmanship which has been done to an exceptional Standard. Would highly recommend & will definitely use Acorn & team again in future!

Acorn Windows were absolutely fantastic to deal with, very professional throughout, a breath of fresh air to be honest. Dealing with David and Sam was a great experience. Dave and Brad fitted eight windows and a front door, they were extremely polite, efficient, tidy workers who took a genuine pride in doing a great job. Jay and Roger followed up on some additional work required, again the same applies, what great teams! A big thank you for taking such pride in your work, so much appreciated!

When we purchased our late Victorian property we knew that it would need a lot of work. With the greatest single expense being the windows that needed replacing. We tried some larger companies who gave inflated quotes and played a silly game to pressure us to agree. We found Acorn while looking around West Bridgford and after meeting our neighbours also found out that they had used them and recommended them highly. Acorn gave us a friendly and comforting service from the start, as it turns out we decided to replace all 19 windows in the house and considered replacing the front door as well. They communicated frequently and were able to accommodate our requests despite the complexity of the job, with several old sash box windows needing to be replaced. There was no pressure and we went back and forth on the plans even including a window we all missed at the end. After a couple of months of waiting we managed to get Jamie and his son Josh in at the end of October. They worked at a breakneck pace, despite the need for a brick-up of half a window and a slightly too ambitious schedule which is our only real criticism. The work they did was of the highest quality and they were friendly and helpful throughout, repairing an outside cill not originally in the plans that had collapsed on the 2nd floor. They answered any questions we had as they went along and came back at the weekend just to get things finished. Leaving the tidy & clean. Overall we could not be happier!

Opted to use a local company. The whole process of organising a quote, measuring up and booking an installation date was simple and we had good communication all the way through the process. The Fitters (Jason & Roger) arrived on time and were very friendly and efficient. The job was completed in just over 2 hours with no mess. The standard of work was excellent and the finished job looked great, we were very pleased - thank you to all the team at Acorn. Would definitely use again.
