Alan has done multiple jobs on my property over several years now. Roofing, chimney repair, brickwork and much more. Reliable, tidy, explains everything, trustworthy. Very happy to recommend him.

Alan was great. We’ve used him for two jobs. One to sort out a leaking ceiling, where water was getting in through the brickwork. The other was to take down a wall to make our living room bigger. Both jobs were done on time at to the quoted cost. Alan is a pleasure to deal with and we’ll be using him again to put up a new bathroom ceiling and to decorate in the coming months.

Quote was a tiny bit more than we were hoping to pay however, you get what you pay for and he was fantastic. Completed work ahead of schedule. Very down to earth and genuine. We will use him again.

Removed my fireplace and bricked up the gap, fitted vent and cut out a skirting board. He was happy, professional, tidy, knowledgeable,listened to the customer and did a good job.

Alan did a job for us knocking two rooms into one. He removed a partition wall and built and plastered another, finishing in two days. He was quick and thorough and did a great job. He also went above and beyond to do a few extra bits and pieces to make my subsequent decorating easier. All rubbish was removed from site and he cleaned up regularly as he worked and left the site clean and tidy. From the intitial contact when he came round to quote he was friendly and professional. (He also turned the quote around within a couple of days which was much quicker than some others we had!). If you want a trustworthy builder who does what he says he will do, when he says he will do it, and do an excellent job then go with AJS - highly recommended.

Third time we’ve used Alan and always happy with his work. This time he replastered our walls and decorated the ground floor of our house and stairs. Will be using him again in the near future.

Alan was very prompt in responding to my enquiry via the Trustatrader website. He did an initial inspection and provided estimates for the work required. The work was spread over a couple of days and Alan attended within the timeslots advised to me. Job entailed taking out (mainly) wooden wall, floor and ceiling mounted framework for old wardrobes situated either side of the chimney breast. Then he rendered parts of exposed walls where brickwork showing due to missing plaster. A ventilation hole was also drilled in the chimney breast and a grill fitted. This was all in preparation for the installation of new wardrobes. He took away the resulting waste and tidied up before leaving. Following the completion of this job, I have asked him to provide an estimate for another job in the bathroom.
