Jamie is not only a good business man, he is a genuine good man! Jamie has saved me £££’ due to wealth of knowledge, skill and a kind heart. He values his customers and his work is exceptional. The lads that work for him are a real asset to the company, they’re tidy, respectful, professional and very skilful. Jamie has gone above and beyond to help me out throughout our loft conversion experience. A special mention to Rockie the carpenter, what a man, thank you for the last finishing touches you gave my house. No job was too hard and you always came through with everything. Jamie and his team went over and above for our loft conversion. The professionalism is just outstanding. The finish was amazing. The team were all very friendly. We appreciated that they transparent with the entire process and gave us helpful and useful information on things that needed fixing and updating in our home. Everytime they left our home, they would clean up and leave the space habitable. A nod as well to Jamie who is very involved in the build and process. He was willing to hear our question and give direction when needed. When you go with Alvaston you choose great project management. Everything was done within (well before) the 8 week window they scheduled. Thank you Alvaston. We love our loft conversion.

Loft conversion and ground floor extension
Alvaston carried out a full loft conversion and built a 4X4 metre ground floor extension for us, commencing at the end of August and completing early in December 2024. Our experience of working with this company mirrors the many positive comments of other people reviewing this service on this and other websites. We were impressed throughout the project by the calibre and expertise of all the personnel who came to work on our house. People turned up when they were supposed to, did a good day's work and were always polite and considerate. This is a long-established family concern and doing business with Jamie Harper and his crew(s) was a real pleasure. Communication was first-rate, and we found Jamie to be amenable, knowledgeable, approachable and always a good listener. It soon became clear that customer satisfaction is a very high priority and any queries or concerns were addressed promptly and sensitively. He consistently returned any calls without fail and we also felt that we benefitted significantly from his good advice backed by his own knowledge and experience and that of his workforce. The whole project was completed within the timescale promised. We are extremely happy with the improvements made to our home and have no problem in recommending Alvaston to potential future customers, on the basis of our own experience.

Loft conversion
Jamie and is team converted my loft from a hip to gable with custom built stair case velux windows and the lattest in loft insulation all the guys from start to finish were professional and polite and Jamie was all ways available to help with any inquiry would recomend to any one once again thank you for a great space .

An excellent company and service
Alvaston were excellent throughout the whole process. It began with an appointment, drawings, plans, and then a meeting to agree on it all, and then the build, which took about 9 weeks. Everything ran like clockwork and the communication was very good the whole time. Jamie, Joe and the team were all very professional and the work itself was to a very high standard. We are now almost 3 months in from having the conversion and it's the best thing we have done to the house by far. I can't recommend Alvaston enough.

Fantastic company - highly recommend
Our loft conversion with Alveston was finished at the start of this year, and I would fully recommend them. Their quote was comparable to the other companies, but we decided to go with Alvaston because they had had great reviews and Jamie is personable, knowledgeable and experienced. We received design drawings with all the measurements and plans for two possible options with our loft, which were very useful. Jamie kept us informed of when they were likely to be able to start the work, and when our date came round the whole process ran extremely smoothly. We were told when the scaffolding would be up, and the port a loo and skip, and what time the builders would arrive. What I especially appreciated with this company was that it was a seamless process; because they have teams to do the build, a plumber, electrician, roofing team, plasterer etc. as soon as the main build was done, the plumber was already booked in to do the next part, and likewise with the electrician. It was so well organised. The finish of the work is exceptional and the new stairs up to the loft room look like they were always part of the house (Alvaston also make their own stairs so they fitted perfectly). All of the tradesmen were professional and super helpful (e.g. when I couldn't decide over a multitude of bathroom options), they also flagged up issues as they found them and offered to fix if we wanted (e.g. a channel on our roof that was disintegrating - they replaced this while the scaffolding was.

Amazing loft conversion from Alvaston lofts
Had my loft converted and from start to finish the team was amazing! Nothing was ever too much hassle for Jamie and if there was any issues or questions he would come round the same day to answer any questions we had. Brilliant work and so happy with the ensuite. If I was to ever have work done again I'd 100% go to Jamie! He is trusted and the work is second to none.

A job well done
We've just had our loft conversion finished. After a kitchen extension that went badly a few years ago, we wanted quite a big company for our loft so we weren't reliant on subcontractors and the builders' cash flow. Had a few quotes but liked Jamie's enthusiasm and vision so we went with Alvaston. Maybe could have got it cheaper from a small outfit but we wanted someone that does this day in day out. There was a bit of a waiting list which is a good sign, but we had contact throughout when we needed it. We built our loft during the depths of winter so I was worried about water damage, but despite a couple of gnarly storms, we had absolutely no issues at all. All the crews were professional and seemed really good at what they do. You can tell they take pride in their work and were happy to offer suggestions/tweaks based on their experience which we were largely happy to take. They were working from 8 o clock every day they were on site. We had a bit of a pause mid-way through our build due to Covid and Christmas, but it was left in a wind/watertight state and being on the floor above it didn't get in our way at all. It's a big project so there was mess and noise as you'd expect, but they always did their best to clean up at the end of each day which was appreciated. A messy week or two while getting the stairs in and knocking through, but you can't make an omelette without breaking eggs as they say. Jamie the owner was always responsive if I had any questions or concerns.

Impressed
We love our new loft conversion, very impressed with the build quality and craftmanship. All trades were on time and ready to go, even during heavy snowfall they somehow managed to get to us. All trades were courteous and helpful and they left our house clean and tidy at the end of each day.
