Not all the boxes are relevant here as what Design Spec do is to ensure that you have something great for other trades to put into practice. James is outstanding and my dealings with him have been both a pleasure and extremely illuminating as to what can or can't be done in certain scenarios. Nothing is too much trouble and you know that time spent to him is an investment to ensure that he and the team can give you the best outcome. Knowing that you'll only get what is the art of the possible combined with the art of great design and practicality and with no hidden extras since it will be to a fixed reasonable fee.

I had to find a structural engineer to report on cracks in my house which caused concern to the buyer's mortgage valuer. I've been delighted that, as a novice in securing such expertise, TrustATrader provided a reliable first step. Jess at Design Spec stood out for her immediate response, friendly and helpful advice and positive attitude. As the work was needed to progress a property sale, she handled my enquiry swiftly, and ensured that her colleagues and associates understood the urgency. I felt confident that the report would be completed in the shortest possible time, and this helped to reduce much of the stress that comes with house selling. The surveyor completed his work thoroughly, providing the report later the same day. An omission in briefing on my part meant I had to make a further request after receiving the report, and this was also handled quickly and with understanding. I can't recommend too highly. Special credit to Jess for exemplary customer service.

Fabulous company to work with! We tried a different company before Design Spec but we never really clicked. After one conversation with Design Spec I knew they just “got it” and were able to turn my rambled wish list into a beautiful design. We knew the end result we wanted but had no idea how to achieve it until design spec got involved. When we had some personal issues that slowed us down, they were patient and happy to wait until we were ready to pick up the conversation again. Lauren in particular has been outstanding. She is easy to work with, listens, has made suggestions we never would have thought of, and nothing ever seems too much trouble. I’d have no hesitation in recommending Design Spec! thank you!

Lauren came up with ideas which we had not considered, but also kept in mind what we wanted which still didn't oppose her recommendations, and compared to other experts in the industry, she actually listened to us, and our needs. In regards to Design Spec as a whole, you know exactly what you are getting with the fixed-price and they are always happy to help where needed.

The service they provide was brilliant. They walked us through the process, helped liaise with the council and told us what to expect, and how to mitigate any issues. Would highly recommend them. Also the staff were very helpful and friendly, especially Laura.

Very pleased with the service from Design Spec Ltd, especially Ellie who has been a great help, always on hand to answer all my questions, making changes to plans and last minute alterations, thanks again for your friendliness and professionalism - and patience dealing with me! :) From initial surveys, early designs/plans through to organising structural engineers, getting planning permission, submitting building control drawings etc etc.. I look forward to getting the building work started in the coming months. Highly recommend!
