Fantastic service from DPS from start to finish. Dave came to do an initial survey and explained everything to us thoroughly so we knew what to expect. His team of specialists were just the best! Extremely efficient and so polite. They were a delight to have in our home. Dave was always on the end of the phone throughout the process if we had any queries or needed advice on anything. We have no hesitation in highly recommending this excellent company.
Rising damp had been identified in the house we had purchased and was something we wanted to address ASAP to avoid it becoming a bigger issue. DPS carried out a free quotation survey, which other companies were charging a few hundred for and they clearly set out the extent of the work that was needed. Booked in for a two day job in order to remove the plaster, install the membrane and then replaster the wall. Work was carried out to a great standard and the guys doing the job were really courteous. Only thing I could mark them down for at all was the lack of a mop to clean up afterwards!

Check they're a PCA member before you accept a damp-treatment quote.
Check the PCA registerGet an INDEPENDENT damp survey, not a free one from the firm that wants to sell you the treatment. A free survey has every incentive to diagnose expensive 'rising damp', when the problem is often condensation, a leak, or high ground level that needs no chemical injection.
Insist they identify and fix the underlying CAUSE (a leak, blocked airbricks, poor ventilation, failed pointing) before agreeing to an injected damp-proof course, and ask them to explain why simpler fixes won't work.
Get the diagnosis and an itemised quote in writing, and be wary of pressure to sign on the spot for a long 'guarantee' that is only worth anything while that firm is still trading.
