He arrived on time. Very helpful and drove to get another outside unit for me (as my current one was unsuitable) also tidy and didn’t mind my excitable dog!

Amazing service from Darren
Darren attended my flat to install a heater that I had supplied. He sent a reminder text the day before to confirm his attendance and called me when he was on his way. He was always very clear in explaining what he was doing and asked for my input on some aspects. While he was there he also noticed a broken socket and replaced that for me. Everything was done very professionally, in a timely manner and at a reasonable cost. Will definitely be using Darren for future works. 100% would recommend.

Kitchen Extension
From the outset Darren was helpful. He oversaw the complete wiring of our new kitchen, taking particular care over the running of the wiring. When it came to connecting all the switches and sockets, he came on the day agreed, was extremely thorough and professional in everything he did. He also took great care not to leave a mess. I have no hesitation in recommending him for any electrical work that needs doing.

A complete professional
After living here for 35 years I thought it was time to have a light under the stairs and an external one for the drive. I emailed Darren and he quickly came back with a rough price and and when he might be able to do the work. He then visited and outlined how he would do the work and helped us with choosing light fittings. His quotation was agreed and the work has now been completed. He explained in detail what he had done and it is all excellent. I have now asked him to quote for external lights at the back of the house. I have complete confidence in him.

I hesitate to write this review. If I recommend Darren too highly, you’ll all want to use him and I might have to join a long queue for his outstanding service, knowledge and skills. But I guess I’ll just have to join the queues but Darren is definitely worth it. Hire him, he is worth it.

Darren has been added to my 'A' list of reliable technicians. He is a true professional and will be my first port of call for future electrical jobs. His work included the replacement of light fittings – two of which required fiddly repairs to old wall sockets; plus, the patient dismantling and repair of a seventh pendant light. Darren is neat and tidy in his work, completing to a very high standard. His prices are competitive.

Darren fitted a transfer box and earth spike to allow the use of a generator to power the house in the event of a power cut . Before the work was carried out Darren took time to carefully and clearly explain what was required and what problems may occur . Due to the required location the of the transfer box in the kitchen it made it an awkward installation but Darren did a very neat job . All aspects of the work carried out were done with great care and attention to detail . Darren arrived on time equipped with a high degree of knowledge and experience. He came with all the specialist tools and parts to complete the work . The price for the work was very reasonable. Apart from being an excellent electrician Darren is a really nice bloke and I would use him again without hesitation. Highly Recommended

We were very pleased with the work recently completed, everything was very neat and tidy and Darren checked various point to ensure that we were happy with his proposal. Darren is extremely knowledgeable and thorough and very tidy. The work was completed as agreed, on time and the cost was reasonable. We have some additional work scheduled for later in the year and will work with Darren again and strongly recommend him.

Excellent service from start to finish
I contacted Darren at Elec-Hicks for some advice in relation to a range of jobs required from adding additional outside sockets, linking of multiple plug in lights in loft and garage to existing light switches adding additional light switches where needed, replacement of damaged outside sockets and suggestion a good quality sensor light on porch. After receiving some helpful calls/email advice Darren agreed to visit and review what was required and arrived on time and was very knowledgeable and suggested options whilst fully explaining in easy to understand terminology. His politeness and professionalism put us to ease and he followed up by providing us a reasonable quote breaking down the costs for each task. Darren agreed to undertake the work shortly after and again arrived on time and undertook the tasks and was a pleasure to have in our home. I was genuinely impressed with his attention to detail and all of his work was undertaken with a smile and to a high standard. Darren could not have been more helpful and nothing was to much, not only did we receive a great work, finished to a high standard with quality materials used throughout but we also learned a lot. I could not recommend Darren highly enough and have already asked him to undertake further work including an installation of a floodlight and a inspection report. We are so pleased to have found a local, reliable and professional electrician who takes such pride and care in his work. Thank You

Problem solved quickly right before Christmas
We lost power to all the sockets in our sitting room, conservatory and a bedroom on 20th December 2019. We didn’t hold out much hope of finding an electrician who could come out that close to Christmas but ‘Elec-Hicks’ came up trumps. Darren arrived on 23rd as promised, found the cause of the problem and quickly fixed it with no fuss or mess. We are confident in recommending this excellent professional to others.

Called Elec-Hicks to investigate our electrics which kept tripping. Darren came out next day and found source of the problem and corrected. Very polite, efficient and reasonable. Have already booked in for him to do another job for us, would highly reccomend.

It's often hard to find a tradesmen who will fit in a small job quickly. Darren was really communicative and had somebody round within a couple of days to do our small job of changing some light fittings. Casey got the job done quickly with zero fuss. Both guys really friendly, and the job was well priced.

After requiring an electrician to install five lights, a new double socket and removal of an existing light Elec-Hicks was recommended to us by a family member. We found Darren to be honest and highly professional in everything he did. He discussed with us before starting the work and throughout and explained things very clearly. He was very thorough and his work was exceptionally neat and tidy. He did over and above and yet we found his prices to be very reasonable. To find someone that takes such pride in his work is a rarity and we wouldn't hesitate to use him again. Would definitely recommend.

An honest highly professional electrician - a rare breed these days
Elec-Hicks had been recommended to us and certainly lived up to their billing. I have worked in the property sector for many years and know the difference between the good and the average when it comes to trades. The work included installing an additional circuit and power to external structures. We had an idea of what we wanted but E-H turned it into a professional solution and gave added value with a number of sensible suggestions. Electrical works must comply with tight regulations these days but it is clear that E-H understand these regs well and work to that high standard. Also we were very pleased with the quality of presentation of the work with every effort taken to blend the works in with buildings and décor - no unsightly conduit / hanging wires etc in the eyeline. Finally, in terms of price, E-H clearly take pride in their work and price accordingly giving an excellent mix of quality / value for money.
