John Paterson "The Window Company" promote amazing customer service and a 10 year warranty with their products. 4.5years after fitting a new composite door at our home, the door bowed and warped pulling the frame away from the house. John Paterson made little effort with the manufacturer to rectify the issue and I had to do this myself. Following a thorough investigation by them, it transpires the door was not fitted as per manufacturer guidelines. John Patterson is unwilling to help, ignores my contact and therefore his 10 year guarantee to worthless.

10 year Guarantee is worthless (even after only 4.5 years)

We had a Composite door fitted by “The Window Company” at the end of 2016. This warped and twisted after 4 years and was pulling the frame away from the house. Contacted John Paterson (owner) who attended and made some alterations to the hinge side, stating he would contact the manufacturer to request a new door to be manufactured as this one was faulty. John Paterson made little effort with the manufacturer and I had to chase him on several occasions asking for an update, in the end he stated “I cant do much more”. This left it to me to contact the manufacturer who were helpful in sending an engineer out to assess the door. Their conclusion from a thorough assessment was that the door frame had not been fitted according to their manufacturer guidelines and recommended the frame be removed and refitted correctly. They also agreed to supply a new door if required. I passed this information back to John Paterson who stated he was too busy to attend and relook at the door but would schedule a visit some point in the future. I heard nothing more and now he ignores my contacts after 3 months. The door came with a 10 year guarantee, which John Paterson "The window company" are not honouring. I am now left with a bent front door which has already started to move the frame once more and will only get worse over the remainder of my guarantee period which appears to be worthless.

This company replaced the roof of my conservatory and fitted a replacement window. Both jobs were completed to the highest standard by friendly and competent staff. The work included plastering and fitting lights. I have used the firm before for replacing windows and this gave me confidence to use them for the big job of the new conservatory roof. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Excellent quality of product and workmanship … fitting was amazingly quick (just 2 days!) and it was a big job. Totally professional service from survey to completion … very impressed n highly recommend.

We have used The Window Company before so gave John a call when we needed the Windows and Doors replaced on our new house. On both occasions we got a very professional service, competitive price and an excellent quality of workmanship to a very high standard Highly recommended.

The back door had to be fitted between water pipes, electric wires and a gas pipe. The front door was simpler. The work was done in terrible weather and was completed within the estimated time. Very happy with the results and would definitely use this company again (had all windows in the house replaced by them just over 3 years ago)
