James was friendly and punctual and the soundproofing of my bedroom wall is great. The quality of the work was of a high standard and the price was reasonable. I’m very happy and so far, I’ve had no noise issues from the neighbours. I would definitely recommend James and I plan to have him do more work for me in the future.
I initially hired JK Construction for internal wall insulation. The plaster finish was the smoothest I've ever seen, so when I needed further plastering work doing, I invited them back. Their wide range of competencies is great for multifaceted jobs; I recently had a leak which damaged my cupboard and the plaster of my kitchen wall. They were able to fix the leak and repair the damaged wall while minimising disruption and avoiding unnecessary work in the bathroom, which would have massively increased the cost. Their prices are reasonable compared to competitors, and finally they're also just really lovely people to have around the house, which really makes a difference for longer jobs!
We have really struggled with sound coming through the party wall of our terraced house, especially on the ground floor. James was able to virtually eliminate it, making our home so much more relaxed. He is by far the most knowledgeable soundproofing specialist we talked to and we appreciated that he convinced us to use standard building materials rather than the specialist and expensive solutions sold by soundproofing companies. He was a friendly and reliable tradesman who we enjoyed having in our home. Also, we had other tradesmen in after who complimented the quality of the plaster so we take it that the finish was particularly well done. We will be asking him to come back to do our first floor wall in the near future.
As structural engineers we work with JK character construction regularly and would highly recommend!

I would recommend James to anyone for their soundproofing needs. Punctual, Personable and Professional. He did a wonderful job in two rooms in our house and we are very happy with his work.

I had been looking for someone to soundproof my lounge and stairwell wall as the walls adjoining my neighbors. The house was a 1980 house with paper thin walls , James gave me a quote after the soundproofing man names Richard came round to assess what could be done , James arrived on time and cleaned up every day I’m pleased to say that the noise has been reduced to a level that I can tolerate.
I had issues with party wall noise in my flat and contacted James for advice and a quote to have this soundproofed. James was amazing to deal with, he was on time, cleaned up after himself and just a really down to earth person. The noise has gone and I couldn't be happier. I could not recommend James enough! I have already passed his details onto friends and family. I can't wait to use him again. Thanks James!!
We recently had a single internal wall soundproofed and are delighted with the results. You can now hold a conversation in one room and barely hear a murmur next door! James was friendly and polite and very thoughtful to the fact that we had a little one napping each afternoon - we wouldn’t hesitate to call on him again in the future!
Really nice guy. Work is clean and to a very high standard. Initial price was lower due to a change in what was required. Love how honest James was about the price. Didn't charge us for work that wasn't needed! Will definitely be having him back
