job not complete , heated towel rail not connected , hot and cold tap wrong way round shower screen not properly secure outside pipework is appauling , i would NOT reccomend this fitter to do a ny work AVOID !

Leon1.0 / 5 ·

£5,500 for a leaking radiator, mismatched grout, and a toilet seat that doesn't fit, half of which he asked for in cash. Shower was faulty, missing dual head, a mirror instead of a cabinet and he gave a weak excuse for not installing the combi-boiler shower and external air vent as originally agreed. Was supposed to call two weeks ago to fix leak, never showed and is now ignoring me!

Contacted us a few days after my rating to advise he will order new bits to fix the leaking radiator.

Originally said it would take a week. After many delays it took about 3 weeks. Charged me an extra £1000 to lower a shower drain pipe in order to install a p-trap to stop smells coming from the drain. But the bathroom now has a constant sewer smell in it from the drain. Left a hole in the wall and some other small defects. Communication was difficult throughout the job with many days I spent home waiting for him when he never arrived. He's now not replying to messages.

This trade isn't licensed in the UK, so anyone can set up. TrustMark is the only Government-endorsed quality scheme for work in and around the home - check whether they're registered, or find a TrustMark-registered business.

Check the TrustMark register
Never pay a large deposit up front. Agree a staged payment schedule tied to completed milestones, and hold a small retention until snagging is done.
Get it in writing: an itemised quote with scope, materials, start and finish dates, and how any changes (variations) will be priced.
Be wary of a cash-only price or pressure to start tomorrow. Both are red flags for an unaccountable job.
