Jim and Jake installed a damp proof course in the front entrance area and the ground floor toilet of our house. They removed the old plaster, injected the damp proofing, and then replastered. They also removed Artex from our ceiling. Communications, punctuality, and quality of the work were all excellent. We highly recommend Jim and Jake.

Highly recommend Jim and Jake – they did a great job fixing damp in our lounge and bedroom. The work was thorough, high quality, and completed quickly with minimal mess. Their quote was very reasonable, and they were a pleasure to have around.
We were really impressed with the work done by Jim and Jake. They are professional, knowledgeable, reliable and very nice guys. They stripped bedroom wall and treated and then plastered. They also replaced part of the ceiling which had become damp and treated beams for dry rot. It was a messy job but they cleared up every day and fully covered the furniture and carpets. Brilliant job, really pleased and fairly priced. Highly recommend.

Check they're a PCA member before you accept a damp-treatment quote.
Check the PCA registerGet an INDEPENDENT damp survey, not a free one from the firm that wants to sell you the treatment. A free survey has every incentive to diagnose expensive 'rising damp', when the problem is often condensation, a leak, or high ground level that needs no chemical injection.
Insist they identify and fix the underlying CAUSE (a leak, blocked airbricks, poor ventilation, failed pointing) before agreeing to an injected damp-proof course, and ask them to explain why simpler fixes won't work.
Get the diagnosis and an itemised quote in writing, and be wary of pressure to sign on the spot for a long 'guarantee' that is only worth anything while that firm is still trading.
