Highlights

Really good drainage engineer. He unblocked my manhole within minutes. Couldn’t be happier. Thank you to London emergency drainage team and to the engineer. Lifesavers

I was using my kitchen sink and it suddenly started to back up and it wasn’t draining correctly. I called this company out to come fix it and the job was done correctly and fast . I am very happy with their service and would recommend if anyone is in need of a drainage company .

Anonymous

Accused us of putting debris down a sink which was backflowing again after a week of being fixed. This is despite us clearly explaining that this was probably not just a simple blockage, and was a deeper issue with the plumbing. We paid over £400 for an urgent call-out and alleged fix, where they replaced a trap and apparently cleared a blockage with a snake. No video footage or evidence of any work provided. Accused of ‘trying to blame us for not unblocking it when we did’. We didn’t think it was a blockage but they simply decided it was, and now are blaming us for this. Quite unbelievable.

Approved plumbers on the free WaterSafe register are vetted, qualified to the water regulations and insured. Check they're listed, or find a WaterSafe-approved plumber near you.

Check the WaterSafe register
Agree the call-out fee, the hourly or fixed rate, and whether parts are charged on top, in writing, before an emergency plumber starts. Out-of-hours overcharging and 'while I'm here' add-ons are common complaints.
Be wary of a plumber who, on a first visit, says your whole system or boiler must be replaced. Get a second opinion and an itemised quote (parts and labour separately) before agreeing to major work.
Gas and boiler work is a separate, regulated trade, not general plumbing. Make sure anyone working on a gas appliance is specifically registered to do gas work, and ask to see that registration before they start.
