LR Building

Lee came to give an estimate for restoration work on my cottage. He was prompt and aware of the do's and don'ts of old property in a Conservation Area. A written quote followed, and within a week the work was started. I consider this work was value for money and am happy I chose the Company. I am extremely pleased with the professional standard and high quality of the results to the soffits, facia and porch, plus the fact that the site was left clean. The neighbours too have commented positively on the work! Lee is now coming back next month to tackle the pointing and the brickwork. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Lee and his company to anyone wanting a perfect job.

We hired Lee and his team to switch around two rooms in our flat, turning what was a tiny kitchen into a cosy reception room, and a reception room that had become the room you dump things in when you can't find a place for them, into a spacious kitchen/diner. Both Lee and his team were thorough and friendly throughout. There were a few snags. Owing to a mix-up, we were left longer than we'd like without hot water or heating, and we weren't blown away by the kitchen supplier Lee recommended. That said, Lee and his brilliant site manager, Ricky, sorted out any glitches fast and kept us in the loop. They worked whatever hours they needed to get the job done, and they didn't consider the work finished until we were happy with every detail. We'd definitely work with them again.

After recently clearing ivy off our old garden wall (possibly 80-90 years old), we discovered the wall was very wobbly with lots of serious cracks and crumbling pieces. It was so wobbly I stopped letting my children play in the garden unsupervised for fear that it would topple down on them. Lee provided a reasonable quote and promptly started work on it, using reclaimed London stock bricks and keeping his pointing sympathetic to the original wall. He was extremely reliable, happy to work on the wall in our absence while we were at work, and very easily to get hold of if we had any queries. He "stitched" together lots of sections of wall either side of cracks, built new piers to support the wall and reprinted where necessary. He came across as extremely knowledgeable about period buildings and gave us lots of advice about maintenance to the exterior of our Georgian property. We were very pleased with his customer service and quality of work and have asked him back to quote for further work on the façade of our house.

I found LR Building via Which? Trusted Traders. I purchased a property where the removed chimney stacks were incorrectly supported at loft level and did not meet current building regulations. I contacted Lee Ricketts who was very professional and knowledgeable. He visited the site and told me what was required to rectify the problem to meet current building regs. Lee and his team did the work to a high standard and he also liased with my Structural Engineer and Building Control who certified the work carried out to meet the correct regulations. After finding LR Building through Which? Trusted Traders, I contacted Lee to discuss some alterations I wanted to my kitchen chimney breast. From my first meeting, I was really impressed with his professionalism. Whilst the alterations were a straightforward job for their experienced team (increasing the height of the chimney opening and inserting a new lintel), a past experience with another builder had left me feeling a bit nervous. By carefully explaining exactly what they planned to do, Lee and his amazing team immediately put my mind at rest. Martin (Action) was an absolute pleasure to have on site and despite it being a dirty job, somehow my kitchen ended up looking cleaner when they’d finished than it did to begin with! I couldn’t be happier with the finished work and would highly recommend LR Building.

I found LR Building Services on Which? Trusted Traders. From start to finish the service provided by Lee was excellent and very professional. Communication was very good from the onset and Lee managed to fit me in fairly quickly in reference to installing two air bricks and fixing a supporting joist for my bay ceiling. The workmanship was very good, and the work was carried out on time and cleanly. The price quoted for the job was competitive. Overall I have had a very good experience working with LR Building Services.

We had a growing problem with a damp outside wall, caused by failing guttering. We also had a concern about a gap under the slab foundation. Lee responded quickly to our call and immediately provided a diagnosis. The gap under the slab was only the route of a soak away pipe, but Lee recommended we dig out a little to take the soil further below the damp course and level the ground out - which I did myself. He recommended replacing some of the guttering - which we knew needed doing - but he didn't ever try to suggest that all of it needed doing (as some builders might!). The job was done quickly and effectively. We'd definitely use them again.
