Matei gave a fixed price and started the next day. We supplied all the materials which were shown to him beforehand and we discussed how parts of the job were to be done. However, upon starting it soon became clear that Matei had little or no experience of fitting our click and lock laminate. He struggled laying it. We had asked that all door frames and architraves be under cut to slide the laminate below. Matei then said that this was not possible and so we ended up with all door frames being sealed with a mastic. The final result was not as expected and was rather disappointing in its finish
The job was carried out very quickly; the day after the quotation was given. Both men worked very quickly and tidily, and I am happy with the result. All has been fine with the laminate in the few weeks after installation, the only downside is that the doors can no longer close properly which led to damage to both the door and the trim on the first opening/closing of the door post work.
