“I can only echo the myriad of other (well deserved) 5 star reviews. I got new keys cut yesterday that were done very quickly & at a reasonable price. I subsequently managed to lock myself out today after misunderstanding how my daughter's new front door works & I returned for advice. Lee did his utmost to advise me on how to open the door myself to save me having to pay for his colleague to come out, but because I didn't have anything suitable available to assist me with opening it I opted to use their services. They were friendly, efficient & quick; I highly recommend using their services. As an aside, I also appreciated meeting Lee as we are of the same generation so I used to avidly watch Grange Hill & the character of Zammo was iconic 💙”
“Friendly local locksmith. Lee goes over and above with his service, prices and friendly disposition. He stayed open late for my daughter when her key broke. He was reassuring and even stayed in touch until she was safely at home with her door locked. Then I realised my own key had a bend and was likely to break. Lee cut spare keys for all of my locks quickly and efficiently, each one worked well. I can not thank him enough for his professional caring attitude.”

He was very helpful and when I sent him pictures of the old lock, was able to recommend a replacement, with fitting, at a very reasonable price. The work was completed on time with minimal fuss and disruption. Communication was excellent throughout the process, and I would definitely use his services again.”

Came round the same day I enquired about their services, which was because they were doing other jobs in the area. They worked quickly and well to fix a deadlock that wasn't working properly. Even took a quick look at my windows for me. If you need them to visit a room with a carpet and would prefer them not to wear shoes, be prepared to put out some cardboard or tarpaulin for them to walk on. They were happy to wear a mask which was reassuring for me.
Can’t fault Lees excellent service, visited the shop a few times now for work locks and personal locks. All keys cut were marvellous fits, no issues. Highly recommend, brilliant.
I couldn't unlock my gate. Lee was very helpful on the phone. I phoned him late afternoon on a Monday and by 12:30 the next day it was fixed. Extremely efficient and very reasonable priced. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

What a fantastic local trader. I phoned Lee on Thursday to talk to him about my kaput front door lock. Andy visited that day, diagnosed the problem and identified the part required. It was delivered to Mentor on Friday and fitted the same day. Lee gave me a ballpark price during the first call and it was done within the price quoted. Can’t ask for anything more. Both Lee and Andy were absolute delights. Very punctual changing my locks at a time that suited me, helpful and friendly. Extra thank you to Lee for indulging me with a Zammo selfie!
Replaced a rear door lock that had failed in the locked position. Access via the closed door was not essential, so arranged with Lee a mutually convenient date a few days later for a replacement. The attending locksmith was prompt, friendly, and tidy, and work was done within the price-range quoted for based on the work and parts required. A slight issue with the lock tension was resolved the same day I spoke to Lee about it. Overall an efficient and friendly team with good communications and aftercare service and would definitely use Mentor Lock again and recommend to others.
I've been meaning to go and get some keys cut here since moving to the area. Finally had to today, as lost my keys over the weekend. Quick, speedy service and goods - perfect. In fact Lee fixed one of the original keys and it now works perfect. Didn't even realise it was faulty until he pointed it out. Will be back for sure, the next time I lose my keys. Got a selfie to boot :-) made my day.
Just a simple lock replaced. Lee made the process very easy and stress free. Returning calls as promised and with a quick turnaround!
I engaged the company to supply and fit a new, more secure lock to the back door. They kept me informed about a delay in the previous job and the likely time of arrival, and still attended within the notified period. The work was carried out swiftly, tidily and efficiently with the minimum of disruption. I am very pleased with the result and would not hesitate to use them again
I had a broken patio door handle which needed replacing. Lee advised me that I could replace it myself and save on the labour costs. Even though he did not stock the same handle in his shop, he went to the wholesaler and sourced it for me and advised how I could fit it. After I had fitted the handle he rang to check it was all working OK. I was very happy with the extremely high level of service provided and would highly recommend Mentor Lock Ltd.

I have rarely encountered such fantastic personnel service. Nothing was too much trouble. Our lock fitting was sourced and fitted speedily and efficiently and Lee's charges are extremely reasonable. He even came after work to check the fitting then went back to the shop to cut extra keys at no cost to us. This really is going the extra mile and I wouldn't hesitate for one second in recommending Mentor.
Needed to get locks on house changed after a tenant eviction. Lee is a very genuine and decent guy - gave a ball part figure which was spot on. Just labour and the cost of the locks. No call out fee. Phoned him in the morning, job completed by the afternoon - so efficient. Very difficult to trust tradesmen these days - how wonderful to come across someone who is so genuine, approachable and honest. Would highly recommend and will use again. Thanks Lee at Mentor Locks.
Two rack bolts and a new British Standard cylinder lock fitted following an attempted break-in on glass double doors. Lee and his colleague Andy were very quick and efficient to respond to my request, to assess what was needed, and to deliver a friendly and high-quality service.
