Highlights

"We discovered we had a mains fault in our house after coming back from holiday and I contacted Josh through Checkatrade on a Saturday morning. Josh was away playing football at the time, but promised to come over in the afternoon to help us which he did. He worked tirelessly to find and fix the fault (and probably got into trouble with his girlfriend for staying so long as they had dinner plans). Subsequently we have had Josh back to fix various other niggles for us including changing down lights and sockets. He is very friendly, reliable, tidy and a pleasure to to deal with! Highly recommend"

"Joshua came promptly and carried out the works very quickly. He explained what he had done, and assured us that should there be any further problems, he was only a phone call away."

Contacted MP and Sons as we are having our kitchen refurbished and needed it rewired etc. Seemed all ok, until the first appointment was missed with no phone call etc to say why. Arranged a second visit, Josh turned up, he was initially rude to my wife. Following this, I asked him to leave, which he did promptly - only good part of his services provided. Avoid.

Electrical work in homes in England & Wales should be done by a registered competent person who can self-certify it meets the Part P safety rules. Check they're on the official register.

Check the electrical register
In England and Wales, notifiable electrical work (new circuits, a consumer unit, anything in a bathroom or kitchen) must by law be signed off under Part P of the Building Regulations — confirm they will handle that.
Prefer an electrician registered with a government-approved competent-person scheme (NICEIC, NAPIT or ELECSA) so they can self-certify the work meets the wiring regulations.
Insist on the Electrical Installation Certificate (or Minor Works Certificate) when the job is done — it is your proof the work is safe and compliant, and you will need it if you ever sell.
