Nick carried out various work, including removing a partition wall between the stairs and dining room, fitting understairs cupboard doors and stair bannisters, and replacing a kitchen worktop. Nick is not only extremely proficient and efficient at what ge does, he is punctual, pleasant and is my 'go to' person for all sorts of jobs. Hes done my bathroom, built wardrobes and project managed the work on my house when it was flooded. More recently he was willing to help me in an emergency when my other builder let me down. I would recommend him to anyone. He is the most competent efficient and nice worker ive ever known.

Nick was fantastic. We really appreciated how clear he was in his communication with us, his quote was really thorough and that thoroughness was carried through the whole process. We’ve had the kitchen a year now and we love it, and it still looks fantastic. This project involved a lot of different parts as the kitchen and dining room were completely overhauled but Nick and his team did a great job and we would absolutely recommend him and his company.

We asked Nick to help us when we moved into a victorian house that had severe issues with damp. Nick was quick to respond and spends time explaining everything he is doing. We felt completely reassured the entire time, and any unforeseen issues were communicated promptly and Nick always gave us a choice of resolutions, all if which he was able to do without us having to contact multiple companies. We never felt pressured into doing more work than was necessary, but we also felt well informed to make decisions about any additional work. Beyond all that, Nick is a friendly and approachable person who is reliable and hard working. He was always on site and followed up on the work afterwards to check that everything was as it should be. He also has reliable contacts across trades and was able to recommend other services to us such as heating engineers. The work Nick did for us is top quality and we will be using him for any future building, renovation or maintenance work we need doing.

We recently had an extensive kitchen refurbishment carried out in Hertford by Nicholas James Home Improvements Ltd, and we couldn’t be happier with the result. One of the things that really stood out to us about Nick was that he offers his own bespoke kitchen range, rather than using products from the larger High Street companies we’ve all come to know. This gave our kitchen a much more unique and personal feel. From start to finish, Nick was clear and transparent about what work would be done, how it would be carried out, and the timeframe involved. Communication throughout the project was excellent, and everything ran smoothly. We genuinely have no faults with the service Nick and Nicholas James provided. We would highly recommend them to anyone considering a kitchen refurbishment.
