Highlights
“Omar contacted me almost immediately after I posted the job . He was efficient , polite , knew his stuff and quoted a fair price . He came the next day on time and did the work to a very high standard. He did some tiling , re grouting and sealing of our shower tiles . As a favour he fixed the toilet flush while he was there which was very much appreciated . I would definitely use Omar again and recommend him highly .”

Omar did the job quickly and efficiently. I am quite satisfied with the quality of the work. There are imperfections, but as he was completing an unfinished job it's difficult to judge whether imperfections arise from difficulties caused by the earlier work. He was a friendly and pleasant person to work with. He had a flat tyre on his van on the day he was due to come, and I had to call him before he called me to rearrange, so his communication could have been better, and that's the only reason I don't give him a top rating.
- The job I posted was to remove a few moving tiles from a walk in shower, clear the decayed grouting and to fix them back on the wall properly. - I got quoted £300 if no tile was replaced, with a cautionary comment about the potential state of the wall behind, which could make the job more expensive. I accepted this risk and asked Omar to carry out the work. - When he arrived and looked at it, he said the job quoted would actually be a lot more expensive (over £1k) claiming that in his experience some tiles would be very difficult to put back (something along those lines, I cannot remember his exact words). - He said that instead he'd clear the decayed grouting and use some flexible filler to waterproof the wall, as the tiles would remain mobile. - I asked him how long that would take, he said an hour or two. - He carried out the much simpler work in just over half an hour, but still asked for the £300 originally quoted. I asked him whether he though the was a fair price, to which he answered that was the price of the job and it did not relate to how long he took. - A few minutes after he left, I was cleaning the shower plate and noticed he had left two large portions of cracked grouting untouched. I rang him and he came back to finish those two off. - When my housemate who uses that bathroom came back from his job as a carpenter, he called me up and told me the caulk Omar had used was not waterproof, because waterproof caulk has the vinegar smell of silicon, which this product lacked. He also confirmed my feeling that the price charged was a complete rip off - My housemate, who was expecting a proper tiling job done (which he also estimates around £300) has offered to do the same thing Omar did again, but this time with a properly waterproof sealant for no charge. - I wrote to Omar to express my concerns. Whilst he was very ready to answer before the job (even messaging me past midnight on Wednesday night), he has ignored my messages for over half a day now, indicating he has no intention to correct this situation.
Omar did a good job
He was very efficient and did the job easily and quickly to a good standard. We were satisfied and happy. Would use again.
Omar was quick to respond and did a good job. I hadn’t purchased enough tiles and he was happy to come back the same week to complete the work. I’d be happy to recommend O’s tiles!
