Detailed reviews

Anonymous5.0 / 5 ·

Rich quoted the same day as I made an initial query, quoted a third cheaper than two previous quotes, thoroughly inspected all existing wiring, explained everything in detail, was efficient, tidy and a genuinely a lovely guy. I honestly can’t thank him enough; literally is a life saver!

Fantastic electrician. Richard turned up at exactly the time we agreed and took the time to run through exactly what we wanted. Nothing was too much bother. Everything was left very tidy and even popped back to check that the car was charging as it should.

Richard was asked to replace our consumer unit. He made arrangements to perform a survey and provide a written quote which was very competitive. An appointment was offered within our time frame. Richard arrived on time, had all the replacement parts needed and completed the job very professionally, and to my wife's delight worked so tidily that she didn't have to do any clearing up. On completion, he explained in detail what had been done and checked and answered my queries patiently. I am confident in the work that has been done and would employ him again.

Electrical work in homes in England & Wales should be done by a registered competent person who can self-certify it meets the Part P safety rules. Check they're on the official register.

Check the electrical register
In England and Wales, notifiable electrical work (new circuits, a consumer unit, anything in a bathroom or kitchen) must by law be signed off under Part P of the Building Regulations. Confirm they will handle that.
Prefer an electrician registered with a government-approved competent-person scheme (NICEIC, NAPIT or ELECSA) so they can self-certify the work meets the wiring regulations.
Insist on the Electrical Installation Certificate (or Minor Works Certificate) when the job is done. It is your proof the work is safe and compliant, and you will need it if you ever sell.
