Beautiful painting work - attention to detail

This is the second time we have used Pat and we couldn't be any happier with the work he's done for us. He previously painted walls and woodwork, including window frames, and has now lovingly restored a very old and neglected Victorian front door, which now looks like new while retaining its original charm. Pat is a very experienced painter and decorator with a great eye for detail and will go the extra mile to do amazing work. He clearly takes great pride in his work and will not cut any corners. Everything was done to the agreed schedule and budget. He spends a lot of time preparing everything carefully and tidying up thoroughly every day. He is an absolute joy to have around the house, and we highly recommend his services!

Bathroom Ceiling Repair

I recently hired Pat to repair a severely water damaged bathroom ceiling, from start to finish he was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Pat is a really nice guy, he is reliable, very organized and trustworthy, he also does a great job. I supplied the paint, but as I have a bad back, Pat was kind enough to come and collect the paint from me and take it to the job. Before choosing Pat, I received multiple quotes from other tradesmen, but Pat was the only one who actually went and inspected the job before putting in a quote, while all the other tradesmen just quoted using photos that I sent them. As Pat properly inspected the job and clearly had a good understanding of the work required, I felt that his quote would be the most accurate, his quote was clear and there were no surprises or hidden cost. Pat's communication and organizational skills were great from start to finish, he also complected the job in the exact time frame that he said he would. I highly recommend Pat for any of your painting and decorating needs.

Excellent experience - decoration of Islington flat

Pat was able to visit the flat shortly after I had contacted him. He advised me on what work would need to be done before he could start the decoration work and connected me with several trades people (who have all done a very good job), which was really helpful for me as a first time buyer. Pat communicates clearly, is very friendly and has done an outstanding job with the decoration of my flat, delivering an excellent finish. Specifically, Pat has repainted the complete apartment, including woodwork and radiators. Many parts in the apartment were not in a good condition before Pat started his work, but Pat invested a lot of time and patience until he received a perfect finish. He even corrected issues that I did not expect him to work on, for example he sanded down the cupboard doors so that they would close properly again. Furthermore, he cleaned the apartment everyday in the evening, which was really appreciated, as I already lived in the apartment. Pat finished the work as quoted. I am very happy with the result of his work and highly recommend Pat. I would hire him again if I need any decoration work done.

Professional service from start to finish

Organised, clean and reasonable decorator

I found Pat on the Which! Trusted Traders website. He was quick to respond to my quotation request and came to my flat to see the work need to be done (painting the walls of a few rooms). He gave me a quote right there. My first impression from speaking to him was he seems to be an experienced decorator and knows well what he's doing. I can trust him. What a good find I made! Pat was very organised, tidy and clean. He planned ahead how he was going to prepare the rooms, what he needed to do each day. He made all the preparations so not to damage my new wooden floor. He made sure the walls were prepped for a good paint. He cleaned and tidied up every day and get it organised ready for the next day. I was able to leave him alone to do his job as I find him even more organised and detailed than me! His painting was professional. He also completed the job exactly as he had scheduled. Everything just fell into place exactly as he had told me I'm very glad I finally found a trusted decorator for myself and my friends for any more jobs in the future! What's more, through him I found other very good tradesmen who I can trust as well.

Really excellent job & great communication

I needed a decorator to paint the whole interior of a 3 bedroom house. I was fortunate enough to receive a recommendation of Pat Roop from architect I have worked with on another project who has known Pat for many years. I found Pat very straightforward to deal with. He was reliable, communicated very clearly on price and timescales. He kept me up to date as the job went on. He was a very tidy worker and well organised - always a good sign with any professional tradesperson. He delivered a great job, on time and on budget. One can ask for no more. Pat has just completed the transformation of 3 rooms in our Victorian house. He is a skilled and hardworking painter and decorator who pays careful attention to preparation leading to an excellent finish to the job. Our favourite decorator

Pat is totally reliable, punctual and works steadily on the job. He's very proficient and knows his stuff especially with regard to Victorian housing, and is very cost reasonable. This is the second time he has undertaken extended work and, as last time, turned out an excellent result. Our neglected spare room had become very wet from leaking gutter. Pat arranged heaters and ventilation across several weeks and then returned the room to its former glory. He is very pleasant to have in the house, tidies everything up after himself each day and I'm perfectly confident in leaving the house keys with him when I can't be there myself. A top trader.
